Mesmer: Sideshow Of The MindKnottās Scary FarmHauntHaunted houseMesmer is great. Itās the most creative take on scary circus Iāve been too. Maze doesnāt over do it with clowns but they get creative with many of the elements inside. Strong set design and trippy moments.
Delusion: Nocturnes & Nightmares - [Season 2023]DelusionHauntHaunted houseBeen to delusion 3 years in a row. This year was much stronger than Valley of the Hollows. However it just is too darn short. It leaves you wanting a longer experience more interactive scenes and more story. All that said, itās a great show, fun and adventurous. Scare level is moderate but immersion level is top notch. Go with a big group and play your part. Itās a lot of fun. Seems like this might be the last year of the storyline so Iām anticipating something entirely new in years to come.
The 17th DoorThe 17th DoorHauntHaunted houseDone the 17th door twice over the years and as scared as I was I think itās fantastic. Itās professionally done and while to each their own fears, I think every room is the perfect level of thrill. Largely more thrill and adrenaline than terror and they do an excellent job of controlling the highs and lows. Shocking does hurt as well was some other moments but it is professionally done. If you are brave I would recommend experiencing it with a solid group of 8.
The DepthsKnottās Scary FarmHauntHaunted houseBest maze at knotts from a creative standpoint. Venturing āunderwaterā is pulled off perfectly. A well laid out variety of scares and things to see. One moment at the end is terrifying if you are there at the right time. Enjoy!
Origins: The Curse Of CalicoKnottās Scary FarmHauntHaunted houseGreat maze, with good story telling and epic changes of scenery. You will find this in most knotts mazes as the formula. The sets are awesome and the terrain changes so thereās plenty to look at. This one specifically has some great wow moments.
The Red CastleDelusionHauntHaunted houseThis yearās Delusion was good. The house they run the show out of is the most impressive part, itās huge. Story wise this year is not as scary as years past. With the price increase and less interaction than years past itās debatable whether itās worth it. Thatās what really makes these shows awesome is the way they can allow everyone in the group to be included. We did have a lot of fun and it was memorable. If youāve never done a delusion show this will be incredible but if comparing to seasons past it falls a bit short.
Ghost HunterEscape Room Era - Lake ForestHauntHaunted houseA really fun game with memorable moments. This game is amplified by how you get along with your group and play along with the actors. Itās not an escape room. More of an immersive event. Acting is decent however at its core thereās a lot that could be done to make this epic. One may not like the game because there are no puzzles, the game is in pitch black most of the time, heavy crawling and minimal special effects/ minimal set to look at. But we had a lot of fun and our group enjoyed it. Left exhilarated and excited.
The GrimoireKnottās Scary FarmHauntHaunted houseThe Grimoire is one of my favorites a strange camping scene gone wrong. The story isnāt all that clear but itās still awesome. They had a great opening scene the first year but fast tracked it a bit this year to control flow. That being said it was still fun and really cool outdoor vibes. There are some light gunshot sounds so if thatās a trigger be aware.
FreakshowMysterious Mansion of GatlinburgHauntHaunted houseFor being in the area this was a nice surprise. Wait time was really long but for good reason as their group control is quite segmented to get good scares in. Itās a quick experience but the actors really know the mansion well to surprise you as they navigate the corridors.
Room 13Knottās Scary FarmHauntHaunted houseNew maze this year. Unfortunately had poor traffic flow and little scare actors. The concept was cool as a hotel but this was the most disappointing one of the night.
