The Wonderful Wizard of Oz13th Hour Escape Room - WhartonEscape roomIRLThe experience is cinematic and speaks to their background in haunted houses. There is a lot of love and attention to details in the room and references. Certainly not the most difficult, but the atmosphere and effects is its highlight and makes it a must play in my opinion.
Curse of the Hidden TemplePuzzleConnect Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThe story and atmosphere flowed seamlessly, the immersion is impeccable from the set to the sound design. The puzzles themselves were challenging without being all that difficult so players of all levels can complete the room and still feel satisfied. There is a ton to do and find as well as a fantastic ending. Our hearts were literally racing (in a good way) when we reached the end.
Frozen In Time: The Race To Save Christmas!PuzzleConnect Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLFamily fun perfect for all ages! A lot of festive fun and holiday-themed puzzles that were adorable. There is something for everyone in the room!
The Candy ShoppePuzzleConnect Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLWhat a blast! The puzzles were clever and really fit the candy theme. You will feel like a kid in a literal candy shop the moment you step inside!
PlaygroundThe Escape Game - New JerseyEscape roomIRLProbably my favorite game from them, the story and theme were amazing! It was a ton of fun and there were a variety of puzzles that challenges different ways of thinking and strengths. A lot of elements I would have never expected that added to the experience, it felt like I was back in elementary school.
Prison BreakThe Escape Game - New JerseyEscape roomIRLA difficult room without anything being too much of a logical stretch. I definitely recommend bringing a large group with you. The set design and atmosphere is exactly what you would expect doing a room at the Escape Game. It was so much fun and you really needed to work together. Enough to keep everyone busy while also having moments where everyone needed to work together! The ending was a little unclear to me however.
The DepthsThe Escape Game - New JerseyEscape roomIRLI love the set, especially within the first room. The puzzles were all really on theme and made logical sense within the context of the story. As for the ending, it was very memorable and I think we were so hyped up to realize we had escaped for a few moments. The videos for the most part didn’t feel like they added to our experience, they just ate up time. Overall, one of my favorite games from them.
The HeistThe Escape Game - New JerseyEscape roomIRLA very well-done heist room, with puzzles that felt very in theme and that added to the stakes. The ending was a ton of fun as well. It was among the smaller of their offerings from I have seen.
PirateEscape The PuzzleEscape roomIRLA really mixed experience. Atmosphere wise, I really liked the look of it and it far surpassed anything else I have done with them set-wise. I enjoyed some of their puzzles a lot, several things were really unique and a blast to solve. However, several things were broken or worn that it made it difficult to do (no idea whether things were intentional or just not well maintained) along with several skill puzzles. There were things that did not function properly and at one point, my teammate had to reach her hand inside something because the items we needed got stuck What really took it down was the clue experience. The GM tried to make the clues “piratey” which meant we were waiting several minutes each time we asked. I understand it can take time, but I have never waited so long for one and for every single clue we requested. We were also told that clues would make a sound but they did not in this room or maybe that was another thing not working properly. We had several times where it took a bit to notice we were sent something. Before time even ended he entered, let time run, and walked through every single room to get to us which ate up time. We were waiting for a clue but he decided to waste time to show us rather than sending clues about the puzzle when we asked. The above really just left my group conflicted and unsatisfied when we really wanted to enjoy the adventure. A lot in the room was so much fun and I wish this was a more positive experience.
AsylumAmazing Escape Room - FreeholdEscape roomIRLThe bus aspect was really cool, it definitely added to the immersion on that front. It’s pretty narrow and cramped so less people would probably work better. The puzzles themselves were pretty standard, nothing that was very difficult but nothing I haven’t seen similar before. One of their hardest was right at the end and it was a physical puzzle which almost cost us the win. The game master was nice, but one downside to the room is they cannot see you very well (because it’s a bus and many locks are floor level) so one of our clues we received answers for several things we already solved before getting to the puzzle we actually needed which are up time. Another downside to being in the bus was there were many things that couldn’t open and those that did, we had to close immediately so we could actually walk through the area so we had to keep double checking what we actually opened. The room also required outside knowledge which is always a little disappointing, even when you have that knowledge. A couple of fun effects, although not as scary as I would have hoped and it seemed when the game master mentioned jump scares. Really a unique aspect to be on an actual bus for the room.
