Ghost HotelGreat Room EscapeEscape roomIRLOf the 13 escape rooms I've done so far, this is one of my top 2 favorites! I'm a co-owner at Secret Combinations, and I'd like to give this place a crown. Set design is one of my favorite parts of an escape room, and this one knocked it out of the park! The puzzles were also fun and enjoyable. This is my first from Great Room Escape, and I'll definitely be back for more. Very well worth the hour and a half drive! :D If you come here and you like it, please leave these guys a nice review on Google. Google reviews do make a difference for us escape room companies, and I think these guys deserve better than what they've got. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The Cabin / Cabin RoomGreat Room EscapeEscape roomIRLOf the 8 escape rooms I've done so far, this one's my 2nd favorite. #1 is their Ghost Hotel for the set. This room is harder though, so if you're experienced & looking for a challenge, this is the one I'd recommend. (Other rooms I did include Secret Combinations, Red Giant, and Provo's Getout Games. I co-own Secret Combinations, and I'm giving Great Room Escape the crown here.) Everyone else on my squad was terrified. Not as much horror as I was expecting (which I appreciate).
Butch Cassidy’s Great Escape – Part 1Winchester Escape HouseEscape roomIRLThis is one of my two favorite rooms I've done so far! My other favorite's Ghost Hotel all the way up in Layton. I'd say it's worth booking both parts back to back like we did. You can open one room and go straight into the other quite smoothly. (Transparency clause: I co-own Secret Combinations Escape Rooms in American Fork.)
Excalibur - The Sword of the KingRed Giant Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLFor sake of transparency, I co-own the Secret Combinations Escape Rooms. My TL;DR review: I didn't like that we needed the actor's help so much in Red Giant's easiest room. But the actor herself, and just about everything else in the room, was very good.
Getout Spaceflight | Mission To MarsGetOut Games - ProvoEscape roomIRLVery cool spaceship, and lots of fancy tech stuff! I hear it got revamped a few months ago, and it's far better than it was. Better decorations, puzzles make more sense, everything runs more smoothly, everything. I saw the reviews for this room before the rework, and they were quite negative. After the rework though, lots of very positive reviews have started pouring in. I gave it a shot, and it was very well worth it. Personally, I liked it even more than the Tomb.
Kraken Casino The Escape DateEscape roomIRLI like the set of this one, and personally, a fancy set goes a long way for me! It looks nice in there! This is my favorite set from Escape Date so far. I also like their difficulty balance. A 2-person room is difficult to balance because some people just can't swing it and others fly through it like a hot knife through butter. (I'd know, because I have the other 2-person room in the area.) I think these people have struck a good balance. Some tech in there can be finicky sometimes. I haven't experienced this room in the hottest of summers or coldest of winters (I went in September), but the AC in there has some power to it and they let you control it yourself. I notice a previous reviewer said it was rather warm in there in December. That says something about the control you have. (Transparency clause: I co-own Secret Combinations, another local escape room company.)
