Hope EndThe Ministry Of PeculiaritiesEscape roomIRLThis has easily been the best Escape Room I've been to so far. The experience raised all the bars. The immersion is top notch thanks to wonderful actors, great set design and mechanics, cohesive theming and engaging puzzles. Damn near everything in this experience has a charm to it. There was plenty for everyone in our group to do and the game master and actors did a hell of a great job in changing the experience into something unique and memorable. They also included a puzzle I have been waiting for over 100 Escape Rooms to finally be given the opportunity to do and it was like I got my Christmas wish. The experience began for us before even entering the location, and the way they did it was absolutely fantastic and hilarious. I cannot sing Hope End's praises enough.
The Weeping WitchCross Roads Escape GamesEscape roomIRLThis room raised the bar. Great action, mechanics, puzzles and moments. No notes. Ship it!
The Hex RoomCross Roads Escape GamesEscape roomIRLFantastic room for big team. Lots of fun and great moments. Good banter with the game master and amazing set dressing. Tons of room for replayability
Temetra's HexEscape Hour Point RustonEscape roomIRLThe room does not disappoint. Fantastic use of space and set, and the staff were enthusiastic and wonderful
Atomic CafeNW Escape ExperienceEscape roomIRLMy only regret is there wasn't more of it. We had such a good time we wanted it to keep going. Great set and mood and lots of fun
Chaos EffectTrapped - CoquitlamEscape roomIRLThis room had a potentially interesting concept but failed in its execution at nearly every opportunity. Simple quality of life changes could make a huge difference and help lead to a much more engaging and enjoyable experience but seems to be restricted out of a desire to keep success rate low. Simple things like being able to write things down or leave notes would not only improve the experience, but could also lead to interesting uses of the core mechanic, which again was underutilized, messaged poorly, and did not give our group the Eureka moment you hope for in a good room. Being talked down to by the employee at the end of it also felt miserable and left the experience frustrated. Set dressing and presentation needs a lot of work as well. Should have been so much better
Space WarQuest FactorEscape roomIRLAudio Puzzles on top of Audio Puzzles, all while being garbled by ambient music and audio. The recording and playback and overall setup was very low fi and made it difficult to hear or understand anything, and the flow of the puzzles left for some dead time for many of the participants. Frustrating experience overall.
