Operation Arctic Storm: The Final Meltdown
The Escape Ventures - Orlando
Escape room
IRL
Pros: Theme is amazing, it’s so good that you feel immersed into the environment! It was definitely hard not to look around and stay focused on the tasks. We loved how everything was well designed and thought out! There was also a ton of puzzles/locks for everyone in the party to get involved with. The amount of physical activity was light to moderate depending on who you ask in our party, all though enjoyable nonetheless. Cons: The puzzles weren’t very challenging for us, there were just a lot of them. We weighed these as a con because we value the gratification of solving a hard puzzle over multiple easy ones. At the end we all discussed how some of the puzzles were solved without completing the physical task we were required to do to get our answer, which took a little bit from the experience (But we did them anyway). Towards the final part of the room there was a puzzle that was finicky and required using a tool/object at a precise angle (which was annoying) despite having the correct answer/solution. Apart from the few cons of the room, we thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend doing this one if you’re a fan of being challenged to solve physically active puzzles and doing lots of them. Game Master Review: We typically remember the name of our game master, but this one wasn’t really one we were impressed with. It certainly felt like she was more bothered by us rather than welcoming. This was definitely a surprise to us considering all of the great reviews we’ve read about this company. I mean, we drove over 4 hours and 300 miles just for this place. Not only did we reserve two rooms with 5 people, but we had a third planned that we decided to skip because of the game master. However, we all understand that anyone can have a bad day so we won’t judge this place based off just one employee so at some point we will be back to do the others. Overall: This is one of the nicest/well designed rooms we’ve been to in all of Florida. We can tell a lot of detail and work went into this one and we loved this about the room. The flow was very nice and every time we solved a puzzle or unlocked a new door there was more things for everyone to do as we progressed. The transition from room to room was both interesting and exciting. This experience required communication and a good amount of coordination which we all enjoyed. Also, all of the objects/items were fully functional and maintained well. As far as the amount of time allocated for this room is concerned, we all think it was a good value for what we paid for considering there was tons of activity for each person in a group of 4 or more. Things we wished were better or felt could be improved: Game Master! As noted above, this was probably the only negative of the day/night that stood out. Although, she’s wasn’t a part of the room, she was part of the experience which is why we knocked our overall experience down .5 points. Experience Rating: 7.5/10
Bros for Life: Fraternity Heist
The Escape Ventures - Orlando

Pros: Theme felt authentic from start to finish, Semi-Dark but light is present throughout so it’s not scary at all (Flashlights Provided). Fun Puzzles that included math, abstract, special effects, and deciphering. Flow was really nice and everything was well maintained. For the most part this game was very interactive, engaging, and light physical activity was required but nothing that wasn’t manageable. Cons: We all felt like this room was missing something more technological. But overall we really enjoyed this room. Game master: Jon was great! He was there immediately when ever we asked for a little nudge without giving away the answer. He was very nice from beginning to end and even asked us if we would like a family photo at the end of the game. To be quite honest, our experience with Jon was the complete opposite of what our other host was as this place for Final Meltdown. Unlike The young lady at the front which gave us our worst escape room experience ever. Overall experience rating 8.7 How we came up with our rating: Theme:10/10 Interactivity: 9/10 Puzzles: 6/10 Upkeep: 10/10 Storyline: 6/10 Game Master Boost (Jon): + .5

The wife and I had a lot of good laughs together here. The room was well designed and had plenty of clever and raunchy puzzles. Mostly Linear, but the experience is plenty unique. There is also a ton of mechanical elements to the puzzles that push you to the limits. Nothing over the top, but just enough to remind you that this isn’t the Lego store.

Theming: 8/10 Layout Design: 9/10 Story Immersion: 7/10 Puzzle Logic: 8/10 Puzzle Challenge: 7/10 Puzzle Flow: 8/10 Fun Factor: 8/10* Difficulty Level: 7/10 Playability/Functionality: 8/10* Staff Interaction: 10/10 Overall Experience: 80/100* Into Detail. * Used an asterisk because since all of “The Escape Game” rooms are a shared experience (unless you pay to make it private). I feel like this rating would likely completely change if I was playing with strangers. Theming: Room was well themed and designed. We truly enjoyed the authenticity of how the look of the room matched the storyline. Layout Design: Spacious and adequate, at no point did we feel crowded or claustrophobic. We felt like we had room to search comfortably without bumping or stepping on each other which we really appreciate. Story Immersion: While the storyline is interesting and fun, we felt a little disconnect as we progressed further into the game. Puzzle Design/Logic: For those wondering, the puzzles make sense for the most part. Basic addition, subtraction, and arithmetic reasoning. Puzzle Design/Challenge: Both mechanical and technical. Some are basic but they do get more complex as you get deeper into the game. Puzzle Flow: Linear, with a good flow. Fun/Wow Factor: This room was both fun and interesting. I would say that there is a decent amount of puzzles involved to keep 3 to 4 people busy. Difficulty: 7 out of 10 Functionality/Playability: Well maintained, Nothing was broken, all props functioned properly and didn’t cause confusion. My only issue is that the experience could be ruined by another group because it is a “shared experience” unless you pay to make it private which we did (Highly Recommended!). Staff interactions: They absolutely nailed it! We did ask for hints a few times, and the hints were subtle enough to guide us into the right direction without giving it away. Upon asking for a hint the staff’s response was almost immediate. And the hospitality as soon as you walk in is amazing! They were incredibly patient answering all of our questions.

Another great room from “The Escape Game”. Good mix of both Mechanical and Technical puzzles. Difficulty depends on who you ask, I would say it’s a medium. Design is good, theme is good, and the storyline is also good. Our Game Master was Amadeus and he was great. Overall, we love The Escape Game at Sunrise. And we look forward to their next release since we’ve done all of their rooms.

Room was so unbearably hot we had to leave the main door open & walk outside every few minutes. Also, the first room felt very tight for me. Other than that I just never got really into this room. The design & theme is nice and there’s plenty of puzzles to keep everyone busy. But outside of the heat and being cramped in the first room, the game didn’t really catch my interest.
