The Crypt
Escape Hour Austin
Escape room
IRL
The “best in Austin” ranking on Morty is well-deserved. This is one of the most elaborate and well-constructed escape rooms we’ve ever seen (with the greatest number of rooms/chambers we’ve ever seen). The set is extremely immersive, the puzzles are innovative and well-themed, and everything feels very cohesive. With six people on our team, it feels like we could do it over again in the near future and all have completely new things to do the second time around.

Did this one with a large group of newbies, and everyone absolutely loved it! As other reviews have noted, the non-linear nature of the game means that everyone can be working on something at the same time, so no one is ever bored, and if you get stuck on one puzzle, you can easily switch to working on another one. The set and story were also very immersive. This is a game that we would definitely do again, and either work on different puzzles (since there are so many different ones to choose from), or just nerf ourselves in general to have the chance to do it all over again with a new group.

Did this game with our family at midnight on New Year’s Eve, and since then, we’ve all had a great time telling people we were locked up for New Year’s. The experience is very immersive, with lots of interesting puzzles and other fun elements.

Aside from one puzzle that had a temporary glitch, we loved everything about this room, from the theming to the set to the story to the puzzles to the unique way the GM interacts with you.

Very high production value, and some really unique puzzles compared to all of the other rooms we've done. But for our group, it was arguably too easy, as we got out in half the allotted time, and wished we'd slowed down to appreciate how fun everything was along the way.

Very technological - perhaps a bit too technological. Over-reliance on the technological innovations means that the whole experience feels a bit repetitive. In the end, the technology made it feel like one of the easiest games we’ve ever done, leaving us wondering how much we’d really done/experienced. But the production value is extremely impressive.

Really fun pirate room, with lots of pirate-themed puzzles. Unlike many rooms (at other locations) that feel like they have a themed set, but generic puzzles, the puzzles in this room are all very appropriate to the pirate theme.

Definitely the best room at this location. A very nice set, with very nice puzzles. Not a spoiler, but a good practice for all escape rooms that is particularly important in this room: throughout the experience, look *very* carefully.
Special Ops: Mysterious Market

A unique room with two completely different feelings at the beginning and the end. We also appreciated that it actually had a complete storyline that played out over the course of the experience, rather than just a vague theme, like many other escape rooms.

A nice mix of technological puzzles and mechanical puzzles, and an engaging storyline. The ending is particularly unique and exciting!
