Die Suche Nach Dem Zepter Des Lichts [The Search for the Scepter of Light]
The Code Agency - Düsseldorf
Escape room
IRL
Overall a great room and I can see why it makes the top list every year. In 2025 it’s starting to feel a little dated but it remains fairly innovative. The set design is top notch and we felt transported to the places we visited. There was a lot of voiceover story which was nice to drive the story but felt a bit long winded. We did feel that the room was lacking in puzzles however which is the reason we didn’t rate it as a loved it. Finishing an 80 minute room in 60 minutes left us feeling like there should have been another area, and the game felt like it should to fit better as well. The rooms otherwise could have used another puzzle or two per room as we felt each one went very fast. The room does contain climbing and crawling. We also felt the room was a little too GM/actor driven, with interaction in the actor required to do certain puzzles

This was our favorite room of the 4 we did at this location. It felt a bit better thought out and the puzzles were a bit more challenging. We still felt like the room went a little too fast with a 41 minute solve time and the puzzles could have been a bit tricker but overall had a lot of fun in the room. The side quest adds some more fun to it as well.

This room was super fun! We played as a team of two and managed to escape with just 10 minutes to spare. There were two puzzles that we needed a hint for. The first one was poor design; we couldn’t have done it without a hint. The second one was a bit silly and on us because we thought we had finished a puzzle and didn’t. The decor was great, and the gameplay was really enjoyable. It had a really cool Harry Potter vibe, with each room having its own unique feel. I also thought the way they started the game was a lot of fun, with separating the teams.

Room was fairly fun they had some interesting puzzles but it felt really fast. None of the puzzles were very challenging and didn’t require much thinking, more of following directions. The theming was pretty good but it looked like they got bored and stopped 80% of the way through, could really use a bit more design in the room for the immersion. If you are gonna copy GOT you could also pump in some of the music too.

The room felt a little dated, there were a large number of combo locks. However it was still pretty fun and there was a wide selection of puzzles. The decor was pretty basic and some of the puzzles were pretty hard to understand but all in all it was a fairly fun room

This was a fairly simple and easy room. We wanted to introduce some friends to the concept of escape rooms and it was a good intro to be able to do that. The design was fairly basic but wasn't terrible. The puzzles were all fairly easy and a good room for beginners. There were a couple of items that were broken and the GM wasn't paying super close attention so it was a few minutes before they informed us about work arounds. The facility did start 3 groups in 3 different rooms at the same time with a shared safety and rule briefing, which felt a little impersonal. They seemingly had 2 GMs to monitor 3 rooms which seems like a decent balance. The puzzles were fairly interesting and nothing felt too repetitive, they did have a few combo locks but they did mix up how to get those numbers. While they told us that each item would only be used once that turned out not to be true and one of the first items is used at the end of the game as well. Overall a pretty dated room, but still fun. It is definitely on the easy side but is advertised as their easiest room so that wasn't unexpected. While the room has clues/puzzles in English and French they did not have an English speaking game master available, luckily we did have a native French speaker with our group, but if you only speak English it may be a good idea to call ahead and make sure they have an English speaking GM available during your reservation time

This was the first of 2 rooms that we did at this location. The second was the revolt. Both rooms were great but we preferred this one. The puzzles were fun but nothing felt hard or required much thought. We felt it was an easier room than most. Not that it lacked puzzles, they were just more intuitive. The room design and puzzles themselves were top notch and a lot of fun. We found a bunch of things we hadn’t seen before in this room. Overall a really great time with a fun build out.

We weren’t expecting much for a small town escape room but we had a decent time as a team of two. The room felt a little dated but the puzzles were modern, maybe a 2.5 generation room. There was a couple of new things we haven’t seen before. We flew through the room but didn’t seem super easy, overall felt the last section could have used another puzzle or even two to pad it out a bit. However it was a fun room to do on late notice.

The room felt a little basic like an older gen 1 room with a lot of combo locks. There is a high tech element to the game that was new to us that was central to the game. The game play was fairly fun though we did get stuck in a couple of places and needed a clue. Most of it was stuff that we missed and not any type of poor design though. It had a good variety of puzzles types and nothing felt repetitive though.

This was our favorite escape room ever. The decor was stunning, the plot fantastic, the hint system was well thought out and a part of the game. Puzzles were challenging but not impossible. The size and scope of the room was insane, absolutely wonderful. Cannot recommend enough do this room.
