La RébellionThe Cipher Room St PetersEscape roomIRLGameplay was very well done and probably had the most puzzles of any escape room I’ve done so far. Setting was very fitting and the puzzles made use of the spaces quite well. Very multi linear, so the more the merrier. Was on the pricier side though for a 1 hour room, but still very well done.
Forest of EchoesNext Level EscapeEscape roomIRLGameplay was really fun, GM was really immersed in the roleplay. Difficult room though, so definitely be prepared, can definitely see people getting lost in many sections. One of the best escape rooms and well worth doing, especially with a good team.
欲望のダイヤモンド [The Dame & the Diamond] Version 2Studio Escape NipponbashiEscape roomIRLThe room was great and definitely one of the top rooms I've done so far. It's one of the few companies in Japan that has escape rooms in English. It has a really good set design with a good sense of progression and the feedback is good (you know when you've done something right). They did a really cool transition as well (trying to be vague) which was quite novel (few other places have done a similar thing) and it was a fantastic idea. The story is really well told, full British accent type and absolutely no hindrance with English only. The invigilator was good, broken English but we'll enough to converse and get us through the briefing. Any hints are given through the voice recordings so no breaks in immersion too (unless I guess you do something really wrong). Overall fantastic room, I don't have time on my trip to do the rest, but would definitely come back to try the rest. Strongly recommend if you're able to give it a shot, and especially if you want a break from the regular Japan tourist itinerary.
Into The DarkServe Social [prev. CodeBreakers]Escape roomIRLOverall a really good experience, the place has lots of fun little puzzles for anyone waiting to have a go. Staff was really good and made some great recommendations after as well. The room itself was cleverly put together and very enjoyable. The lack of sight was a unique experience and the story put it all together very nicely, making very good use of the space and keeping the sense of progression.
The Lost Scepter of TutankhamunUltimate RoomscapeEscape roomIRLGood as an intro to escape rooms, fairly easy but had a really good pace and progression and good environment.
Mr Oswald’s Greatest ShowBreakout Avenue KEscape roomIRLOverall good, nothing crazy in the experience, but fairly solid. Not super scary and no jump scares (states on the website). Gameplay was decent and set was pretty good but not too much to actually interact with other than the direct puzzles themselves. The two I've done at breakout so far are definitely not multilinear and as the other review mentioned, they have a style of telling you which puzzle in which order and that applies to the answers too, which we thought made it a little too easy, and then at times they don't label everything anyway, so I'm not sure if it's actually helpful or harmful. For the price definitely worth doing, and it is a fun room to do, but again not contending for the top tier of escape rooms. Puzzles weren't crazily difficult either, time does feel short but it's not too bad I think.

CerebrumBreakout Avenue KEscape roomIRLAs of writing this, we somehow got the fastest time, which wasn't very fast at all. So I'm not sure if the puzzles were hard or not as intuitive for others. The set itself is interesting and the post game review did explain the story a lot. I agree with the other review in that the story as you are doing it is not very clear, but you kinda make out the general gist by the end. The puzzles do rely a lot on communication, so I strongly recommend having capable players split up, otherwise you can get stuck early on. The room is decently decorated and set up, simple and the debrief does make it sound like a lot of thought was put into the design but I will say from the players' perspective, it is more on the abstract side of things. Puzzles were decent but nothing crazy interesting but worth a shot if you're in the area, and for the price of ~$15 aud pp, well worth.
MausoleumLost SG Escape RoomEscape roomIRLAverage room, set was average, puzzles are linear, so not much wandering around needed. Not a lock type of room which was good but puzzles aren't exactly intuitive and the mechanics are kinda cooked here and there (they work but have to be input in a certain way, meaning we could get it right but not know it's right). There's also no feedback when it's right, i.e., you don't really know something has changed, thankfully they're kinda in front of you, but there's no sound or otherwise to indicate something has unlocked. It's not a bad room, but nothing particularly special about it. The theme was good for my fam to engage (Chinese background) but that's about it. The hints had to be very specific and detailed which led to the puzzles being very unintuitive.
