Stash HouseStash HouseEscape roomIRLLives up to the hype if you like puzzles and locks. We tackled this with a team or 5 and I enjoyed watching each other excel at our varied strengths. It’s feel like an OG boss battle escape room with simple analog locks and puzzles. I didn’t think the immersion / worldbuilding / subversive subtleties were as strong as others feel. At its core, it’s a puzzle room. Which is a good thing, because I like puzzle rooms.
Level99 RoomsLevel99 - ProvidenceEscape roomOther So many fun and challenging games here. I thought it was a lot more bang for your buck versus a traditional escape room because you can replay challenges and choose what games you want to play. It was very physical but you can modify how hectic your experience is if you take longer breaks in between rooms. Some room’s tech didn’t work properly. but overall the experience is pretty advanced, slick, and snappy. 2 hours is adequate to experience a lot but if you wanted to have a leisurely experience or if you go during peak hours more time would help.
13th BasementExit Game OC - AnaheimEscape roomIRLSassy and satirical room, owners were very kind and accommodating.
InksidiousEscape Room 66 - Los AngelesEscape roomIRLA fun and pleasant game. Lots of locks and lockboxes. I enjoyed the “art” theme. This was our team’s first time ever setting a record! 25:28 elapsed with no hints. Can you beat us?
Whatever Happened To The Garretts?Maze Rooms - West LAEscape roomIRLBest part is the impeccable set design. Lacking part was the puzzles as others have noted. However, i think the production design makes up for it. I remember asking my team “is this what it really was like in the 80s?” They really knocked it out of the park, from the ultra specific props to the textures of the surfaces, furniture, set dec. That was such a joy to immerse ourselves in. However the gameplay left a lot to be desired. Didn’t feel like a challenge at all and left feeling a bit underwhelmed from such a tremendously constructed set from start to finish.
Escobar: Part 1 (The Betrayal)The Escape RevolutionEscape roomIRLThis was one of the hardest rooms I’ve done, requiring a lot of keeping track of threads and paying close attention to detail.
Wrongfully ConvictedThe Escape RevolutionEscape roomIRLMy favorite room done to date! 😱😍🤯 just over the moon thinking about what a novel experience this was. Such an invigorating and balanced experience, beginning to end! It was physical, realistic, and immersive with an array of puzzles. Our team cannot shut up about how this room set the standard for what the perfect escape experience can be. This will be my #1 recommendation in the LA area for those looking for a LA-level production value experience.
Prison BreakEscape Room 66 - Laguna HillsEscape roomIRLReally like this brand. They show that you can have a lot of fun with a bunch of locks and keys. We did this back to back with a gen 3 room and this one was by far the more exciting and rewarding experience.
