Cutthroat Cavern13th Gate EscapeEscape roomIRLThis room was incredible set wise but it does not flow well and the clue system is not the most efficient. You have the option to get a clue or the answer but there is only one present clue that walks you through the puzzles step by step rather than focusing in on the specific aspect you’re stuck on. This definitely felt like a 90 minute room in a 60 minute time frame and other companies near by told us they’ve never heard of anyone escaping. As a 200+ room player with only 2 losses, this room just felt impossible with the current clue system and game flow. Overall, the set and surprises in this room are incredible and there are some unique puzzles, however, after driving an hour and a half to play, this room didn’t leave me with a desire to play the rest of their rooms immediately as most other companies do.
Escape From Planet ObscuraIn The Game - ICON ParkEscape roomIRLThey double charged us for the room, the game guide came over speaker for every single puzzle to tell us exactly what to do before we had a second to process, the game stopped working half way through the game so we couldn’t see how the game ended, and no compensation was offered as they walked us out of the room. Overall, I wouldn’t have a 25 minute room if you’re going to feel the need to rush a team through the puzzles especially if the only time actually needed was to stand around and wait for acknowledgement that the second half of the game was broken.
