The Ministry Of Peculiarities
Escape room
IRL
First of all, I did not know what I was getting myself into. From the moment we arrived the front staff did a great job at setting the tone. I am someone who doesn’t like spooky or horror but I would say this is doable if you’re a scaredy cat like me. There is a live actor and I think they were the best part. It was a really fun room and I genuinely felt like I was in a thriller movie. I loved the victorian style set design. We escaped this room with 4 people (3 adults and one 14 year old). I’d say I recommend you play this room between 4-6 people.
The Elevator Shaft
THE BASEMENT: A Live Escape Room Experience - Sylmar
Escape room
IRL
I wouldn't recommend this room for individuals who are claustrophobic or have a fear of elevators. As someone who is easily frightened and dislikes anything horror-themed, I found it to be not scary at all. However, I did appreciate the set design, special effects, and immersive experience. One drawback was the difficulty hearing our GM and each other due to the loud environment. Additionally, the dim lighting made it hard to read. Overall, I recommend this escape room for groups of 3 or 4 people. It might be more time-consuming with only 2 people.

I would recommend this room for beginners. This was my 20th escape room and I was not impressed. The set design lacked creativity and it wasn't immersive. The puzzles were pretty straightforward. Our group of 3 still had fun. Since we played on a weeknight we got a discount.
