The Wonderful Wizard of Oz13th Hour Escape Room - WhartonEscape roomIRLI think the reviews of this place made my expectations too high. The room itself was really fricken cool, and there was one element in particular that was just incredible. The puzzles were pretty easy and straightforward, and the design was awesome. That was all great! The thing I’ll say is- you can hear all of the other, scarier, rooms very clearly if they’re being used because you’re all in one huge warehouse. So through a lot of our experience we were hearing people scream bloody murder, and a lot of frightening sound effects that were really distracting. Our guide was also very distracted and fully entered our room at the end to help us with a puzzle we were already solving and didn’t need a clue for. So that took us out of the world. Idk the whole experience was very strange. But the room itself? Super cool. I think it just needed some music to drown out the other rooms
Ghost LightMyssTic RoomsEscape roomIRLEASILY the best escape room I’ve done in NYC and definitely one of my favorites ever!!! The tech was amazing, the atmosphere was so immersive, and most puzzles were very straightforward but not necessarily easy. It was dope. I can’t wait to play all the rooms this place has!!!
Whatever Happened To The Garretts?Maze Rooms - West LAEscape roomIRLGreat set design, good puzzle-to-room ratio, all around really fun! I don’t even know what else to say except: go play this room. One of my favorites ever
Gold RushThe Escape Game - New YorkEscape roomIRLI loved the atmosphere, loved the puzzles, and there were some great surprises too. I’m curious to see how much more I would’ve liked this at a different branch, because the NYC Escape Game is very compact, but even still it was so fun!!
Escobar: Part 1 (The Betrayal)The Escape RevolutionEscape roomIRLI found this one pretty hard, just because of the amount of elements, but the set design and the props and the production value were excellent!
Wrongfully ConvictedThe Escape RevolutionEscape roomIRLThis was one of the coolest escape rooms I’ve ever done. So many elements to it, and so many unique things I hadn’t seen in other rooms. It’s been months and I still think about it all the time. You must do this!! (There were 3 people in my party and I would recommend maybe 3-4, you really feel like you’re all doing something)
PlaygroundThe Escape Game - Rancho Cucamonga [prev. at San Bernardino]Escape roomIRLLOVE this game. So many puzzles, such a fantastic payoff at the end- no notes. so much fun. We played with 6 people, I would say that’s the max you should play with so that everyone still gets the full effect. An experienced group of 4 could do this too!
Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle60Out - MelroseEscape roomIRLThis room was really fun. Perfect for a group of 4-6! There were so many tech elements and the atmosphere was great. Getting to pick your characters was something I hadn’t seen before either and really got me immersed. What DIDN’T get me immersed was our game master coming on the speaker to give unsolicited advice every 5-10 minutes. I don’t get why they ask us to be unanimous in our wanting hints if they’re just gonna tell us anyways. My one critique with the game itself was that the second room was so nonlinear that it was hard to tell which things/tech correlated to which puzzles. All in all we had a great time. We were laughing, screaming, and it was definitely one of the more memorable ones I’ve done!
Timeliner: Train Through TimeThe Escape Game - New YorkEscape roomIRLI liked this one more than I thought it would! It could’ve been more challenging overall (though there was one part that had us very stumped) but the tech on it was REALLY cool. Definitely recommend!!
AvalancheMaze Rooms - Robertson BlvdEscape roomIRLthis is an escape room I still think about 2 years later. While the storyline didn’t really make sense, the set design was some of the best I’ve ever seen. So damn cool
