The Campground13th Hour Escape Room - WhartonEscape roomIRLAbsolutely one of my favorites. Not only is a 90 minute escape room a blast and waaay more satisfying than an hour, this room is awesome overall. It’s huge, and very well made.
Enchanted LibraryAmazing Escape Room - MontgomeryvilleEscape roomIRLWhen I tell you this was one of the best escape rooms I have done in a long time... I mean it! No spoilers, but the reveal to the second room is breathtaking. Hands down one of the most inventive and beautiful escape rooms I have ever seen! There is a lot of attention to detail, and it is definitely a stand out theme! So many escape rooms are repeats of the same few themes, but this one is really different and I appreciate that as an avid escape room goer. The puzzles are the perfect difficulty, even the longer puzzles feel like you are making progress the entire time. Some puzzles feel like you hit dead ends when workshopping, but the puzzles in this room flow nicely! I
Legend of the PinesSolve It SherlockEscape roomIRLA bit older style of room, but fun and charming nonetheless! Definitely worth playing, especially at the price point they offer.
Mansion MurderEscapology - GarwoodEscape roomIRLWe are avid escape room enjoyers, and we’ve never been to this company before so we were excited to try it. With the prices being higher than average we hoped it would be good. We booked the Mansion Murder room (spoiler alert, it was not worth the price at all.) Also to be transparent, we beat the game in 40 minutes. The inside of the facility is really nice, but the room itself was not great. It was very worn and there were obviously broken pieces or remnants of former puzzles with “don’t touch” stickers on them. There were some neat tricks in the room, but most of the tech was outdated or cheap and flimsy. They also have you speak to your game master through an intercom, which is something I’ve never experienced before. There was a puzzle that required us to check our answer with the game master, they also didn’t really seem to be watching us on the cameras because every time we utilized the intercom we had to explain where we were in the game. Our screen was “broken” so we were told we would have to watch the intro video on an iPad and alert the game master when the video was over. 20 minutes into our game someone came in and just turned on the monitor, so we were able to see our timer which was just a chrome tab with a counter on a black screen. I could literally see their inventory google sheet and bookmarked tabs for their Waivers and booking system. There was no background for the timer, no music in the room. I don’t know if it was an issue of the staff not understanding how the equipment works or not, but it was an awkward experience to be sure. We also completed the objective and they did not pause or stop the timer and we were just standing there like🧍♀️🧍♂️🕴️. It was just a lackluster ending. On our way out, we were offered 15% off a future game with the exception of the scooby doo room or the pirate room (which I’m assuming are newer games) they should really be offering THIS game at a lower rate. I would assume their other games are better? But I do not think we’ll be back because this experience fell way flat for us, especially considering the price point.
Game of StonesCloak and Dagger Escape Rooms - HamiltonEscape roomIRLVery cool aesthetically. I would say their challenge rating isn’t exactly accurate but we did get out and had a great time! Some of the puzzles had some faded markings which held us up a bit, but overall it was a solid game!
Star ShipCloak and Dagger Escape Rooms - HamiltonEscape roomIRLI’ve done a lot of futuristic rooms, and this is definitely one of the coolest! The atmosphere is very cool. This is their hardest game and it’s definitely challenging and there is A LOT to do. I wouldn’t say any of the puzzles feel like clues are necessary for, they all make sense however if you get caught up on something it will definitely bite you time wise. This room has really good indicators of which puzzles you’re on which is so helpful for game flow. Overall we did really like this game, but some of the tech was definitely a little inconsistent. It all worked but you just have to make sure you wiggle EVERYTHING. If you think something isn’t working give it a wiggle before moving on to trying a different solution. There was also a “free find” thing that we didn’t get right away because it felt like it was locked and we didn’t want to pry anything open, but when we asked for help the game master told us it was meant to open so we got there in the end. All in all, good game!
Murder Mystery: Missing in BlueThe Great Escape Room ChallengeEscape roomIRLThis has got to be one of the worst escape rooms I have done in a long time, not only is the room in disrepair the puzzles are filled with stuff that is intentionally misleading and it seems very outdated as far as the tech goes. Primarily physical puzzles and keypads. The puzzle design was just… not great. Maybe the other rooms are good, I know this one was made in house so idk.
