SubmergedEscape Room Entertainment - West MelbourneEscape roomIRLThe employees were blunt and not very friendly, and we got the feeling that they felt the need to act that way because previous customers had been rowdy and destructive in their rooms. The room felt disorganized, it wasn’t obvious which puzzles gave the answers to which locks so we just had to keep trying them all. You can hear the players in the other escape rooms, and the GM talking to them over their speaker, and we were told to play quieter when trying to figure out our puzzles… so better soundproofing would be nice. The speaker in the first room was broken so we had to strain to hear the opening video and our GM from the speaker in the second room we hadn’t even unlocked yet! Overall it felt a bit rundown. I don’t mind a low-tech escape room at all, but I do expect things to be functional enough that we can do the puzzle without needing to ask the GM why something isn’t working.
