Boda Borg Boston QuestsBoda Borg - BostonEscape roomOther It is a unique experience in the US (though some more like it are popping up). It is a day of quests instead of straight up escape rooms - though some of it will feel familiar. They break down the quests for you, so you can focus on things you want to try (some are VERY physical). What we had to get used to was that no room tells you what to do. A buzzer goes off if you fail and a new room opens (or you complete the sequence) if you succeed. That's it. But since they are super quick, that didn't matter. We were there four hours (you can book different amounts of time and then the rooms are unlimited) and we completed only three rooms. They told us that was average, but who knows. Part of the fun is definitely figuring out what you have to do, followed by then figuring out how to do it. I'll tell you - when you get to that stamp (finishing each room allows you to put a stamp on your passport) - it is a real feeling of accomplishment. If we lived in Boston, we would have already been back multiple times. Loved our exhausting day there.
The DepthsThe Escape Game - Kansas CityEscape roomIRLStrong room. Fun design with varied puzzles. Good for four or five who want to divide and conquer.
Pyramid ParadoxTick Tock EscapeEscape roomIRLThis is probably my top room I have ever done. The tech was exquisite and there were some puzzle designs I have never seen before or since. When you get to the final puzzle and thing happens that happens (no spoilers on purpose), the release of pure joy and exhilaration from all of us was something I have remembered for a long time. You can also do this room head to head (or at least you could - have not checked recently if that feature still exists).
Sugar RushExit Escape Room NYCEscape roomIRLDelightful linear room. Fun puzzles that require all five senses and you get cupcakes at the end! (All of these things they tell you before you start.) Not a lot of extra stuff, but it doesn't matter. It's a very satisfying room.
Laboratory of BiohazardOmescape New YorkEscape roomIRLIt's advertised as high tech. It is not even close to that. There are some unique puzzles and the design is good, but there was not much tech. And the quality of everything was very bad. Like worst I've ever seen bad. Many elements were dangling from the wall or held together with packing tape. At NYC prices, this is not a facility we will be returning to.
