Christmas at 13th Basement
Exit Game OC - Anaheim
Escape room
IRL
This is the Christmas version of the 13th Basement, so instead of just an escape room fanatic storyline, we have a Christmas & escape room fanatic lol. If you like parodies and the horror genre, this game will be memorable and there will be moments where you might just yelp out a tiny scream followed by laughter because of the obvious horror and escape room tropes used. Definitely a great game to play!
13th Basement - Naughty Elf

VERY fun game! If you already enjoy their 13th Basement game, you have to try the Naughty Elf version which includes a live actor in the game to just mess with you as an elf. Itโs some crude but enjoyable humor and echoes immersive theater plus escape rooms. The fact that itโs already built on top of an already stellar game just makes it feel even better. Basically take the 13th Basement game, make it Christmas, and add an elf trolling you in the game and you got this. Highly recommend!

Loved this room. Itโs pretty hard to impress me with any Indiana Jones/Uncharted/Tomb Raider type of game, but this one impressed me. Iโm from SoCal and was only in town to visit family who happened to live 4 minutes from this business. The game is as immersive and sometimes more immersive than some kf the best ones in SoCal. The puzzles were very on point and in-theme, and I appreciate that the props were not โlarger than lifeโ but also not โfor antsโ. Even after playing 160+ games, I was impressed with seeing some puzzles that I have never seen before, and for the ones that I have seen before, their execution was REALLY excellent. The game design and flow was really good, everything had amazing signposting and towards the end you have a big adrenaline rush that makes you feel excited, and the final endgame is super satisfying. I havenโt played any of their other games yet, but this one is definitely a must do if you are around the area and want to avoid the big downtown escape rooms. I am excited to come back and play more if I have time to. Thank you to Xander and Kira for making our time memorable!
Starship | Interstellar Escape
Wild Goose Escapes - Fullerton

Warning: This isnโt an escape gameโฆ itโs a full EXPERIENCE I have had this game on my wishlist for a long time and after a few failed attempts of trying to play, we finally got the band together to experience this adventure. I am a sucker for scifi and space themes, which also makes me a bit pickier in terms of getting the โfeelโ right. This game met my expectations and rocketed past them! Even though the traditional escape room puzzle is there, you should expect that the gameplay is mixed with the feeling of actually being in control of a spaceship with crewmembers specializing in different things. In a way, itโs like a real life version of the mobile game Space Team, except more epic and immersive. We know itโs an escape game but we lost ourselves in the world of Starship to the point that we really believed we were flying the ship and traveling through hyperspace. The storytelling of the game is compelling and I loved its use of communications because it follows the tropes you expect from many scifi show spaceships. I really felt like the ship we were in could very well be in Star Wars, Star Gate, Star Trek, or Battlestar Galactica. Set design is definitely next level. Excellent game, probably best for a group of 5, and one I wonโt be forgetting about anytime soon.
An Office Escape
Cinema Escape Rooms - Los Alamitos

Late to the party, but you gotta play Cinema Escape Roomsโs Office Escape ASAP! We had such a good time with a mix of The Office casual fans, superfans, and non-fans. Even for myself, as a casual fan, the references were very memorable and hilarious. The puzzles were unique and super fun, and without mentioning spoilers, be ready to bring a large group! The mix of puzzles was welcomed which included things I havenโt seen before and other activities that were just straight up silly fun, and our gamemaster Laurie was very enthusiastic. Excellent game, thank you to Andy, Hannah, and our awesome gamemaster Laurie!

This is an AMAZINGLY FUN game! So much nostalgia and lots of creative activities that are just purely fun. A few surprises that we didnโt expect and the puzzles are pretty unique and intuitive. I havenโt played any other game at TEG but if theyโre all like this one, then I canโt wait!
The Hide
Escape Room Era - Anaheim
Escape room

This was a full-on experience! Our group of 4 was able to get out with lots of time left, but so many moments will be forever etched in our brains. The game really makes you feel like you are in the middle of a horror movie, and itโs probably Escape Room Eraโs most technologically and immersive room. Without spoiling too much, there are some really cool moments on the game that really make your group โbondโ. Highly recommend for horror lovers! (Puzzles are on the easy side but if they were any harder, weโd be catatonic from fear)
Mysterium
The Magic Castle
Escape room
Pop up
This was a Magic Castle limited escape room event, and I really wish it was able to be made into a permanent fixture. The game was so well done! They used one of the main castle stages but changed that whole space into an escape room, and being that it is at the Magic Castle, they had some very creative puzzles with real magician props. If only one day theyโd bring it back.. would love to play it again.
Inventor's Attic
Escape My Room

Played this in my escape room marathon for my bachelor party a few years ago and still remember how much fun it was. Entering in this business itself already has a beautiful lobby, and this game is no different. The puzzles had lots of cool uses of tech and mechanics, and the use of space was pretty creative. Definitely recommend for people traveling to the area.

Surprise after surprise after surpriseโฆ WHAT?! I played this game after doing the Anubis room, and I was thinking nothing can top Anubisโs production valueโฆ and I was so happy I was WRONG. This set design is so amazing, and because of the set it made the puzzles feel grand. The actual puzzles themselves, when you think of it, are basic twists on classic puzzles, but because of the sheer grand massiveness of everything, it enhanced the puzzles as well. I do wish the puzzles were a little better, but this room as an experience will probably be in my top escape room experiences or all time for quite a while.
