Operation Arctic Storm: The Final MeltdownThe Escape Ventures - OrlandoEscape roomIRLThe set was breathtaking and the immersion factor was spot on. Everything felt authentic and the different ways of navigating the room were super fun. The puzzles all made sense in the context of the story. If I had one constructive criticism, I felt a couple of the puzzles had too much hand-holding that made them a little on the easier side. Taking away the extra clues would make for a more challenging room. But definitely in the top 10 rooms we've done and probably top 3 in Orlando.
The BoogeymanGatlin's Escape Games - Pigeon ForgeEscape roomIRLExcellent Room. The scenic is very immersive, and the tech/special effects were mind-blowing. The puzzles were very well designed and fit the story nicely. In particular, the first puzzle was one of our favorites and had a humorous effect when solved incorrectly. If I had to give two critiques, one would be that one particular puzzle's solution required trial and error to solve and the room was on the easier side. Adding one more room to the game would have been just right. However, the puzzles were super fun, immersive, and technologically impressive. The creepy factor was moderate as there were a few jump scares, but nowhere near horror levels. Despite minor critiques, I highly recommend this room.
Cannibals In The CatacombsPrototype Escape GamesEscape roomIRLPhenomenal game! If you are on the fence about whether or not to play it, play it! Plenty of scares, but if you're a fan of horror escape games, just maintain your composure and you'll be fine. Puzzles were great and fit the storyline as well. We've played over 100 games and this one's in our top 5!
Blackbeard's TrapBreakout AdventureEscape roomIRLThis was a phenomenal experience from start to finish. The owner was very friendly and spoke to us before and after the game. The game itself was amazing and immersive. The tech, both mechanical and electrical was very impressive. The final puzzle and ending were both satisfying as well. We can't wait for the next rooms to be finished! We will be back for sure!
Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient ExpressEscapology - Pigeon ForgeEscape roomIRLThis is probably our favorite game among the Escapology games we've played thus far. Great tech, puzzles, and scenic. The final puzzle is fun and a great climax leading up to discovering the killer. My only negative is a puzzle with a considerable logic leap and what we believe is a time-consuming red herring if we remember the gameplay correctly.
The Legend of AtlantisGatlin's Escape Games - Downtown GatlinburgEscape roomIRLGreat game, great puzzles, amazing immersion and background music. Tech was a little finicky at times so communicate with your game master if you believe you have the correct solution to a puzzle but the desired effect is not triggered. As other reviews mentioned, lighting and color differentiation is an issue for one puzzle in particular. There is only one lantern and that might be intentional due to the story since one person is lost... so why would there be more than one lantern? Or maybe there is only one lantern to add to the difficulty of the room. Issues aside, the puzzles made sense in the context of the story and were fairly solvable. Overall this was a very impressive and fun room.
SubmergedUltimate Escape Game - AtlantaEscape roomIRLWe thoroughly enjoyed this room. All of the puzzles made sense and fit the theme. Unfortunately, there was a piece of tech that did not work properly and the game master had to come in and trigger the effect for us. He acknowledged that the puzzle needed to be reworked for it to consistently work properly. One other minor critique is that some of the clues you get from viewing the periscope were difficult to see. Otherwise we had a great time and would return.
Mad ScientistSmoky Mountain Escape GamesEscape roomIRLDecent little room. It's a very traditional room with a fair number of locks, but there's a decent amount of tech as well. The relevance of puzzles to room theme was fair, some in theme, others not so much, but puzzles generally made sense. Unfortunately, the game master had to come in and manually trigger the final puzzle due to a malfunction. Scenic is typical of a doctor's office/mad scientist room. Overall, I'd recommend if you want a traditional escape room, want to support a local business not a chain, and guarantee a private room.
Mind-BogglingAmerican Escape Rooms - TallahasseeEscape roomIRLThe puzzles were decent but basic. However, a couple of the puzzles had faulty or broken tech. A cell phone locked us out for 15 minutes for one incorrect attempt and the final keypad to escape was completely broken resulting in the game master feeding us a code to advance to the next puzzle and an anticlimactic finish.
