The Train Heist Adventure
The Secret Chambers - Fort Worth
Escape room
IRL
This game was on the right track! It keeps you chugging along with a varied assortment of tactile puzzles that almost always require or reward group involvement. Our team of 2.5 needed a little help from our accommodating puzzle conductor due to the small group size, but it was still fair and doable. Grab your tickets today, partners!
The Traveler's Guide to Little Sodaburg
Meridian Adventure Co. - Online
Escape room
Virtual
What a complete delight! This online room encourages so much collaboration and communication amongst players. While it doesn’t eliminate the quarterbacking that many online rooms are prone to, it does a lot to mitigate that. Plus, it’s fun, funny, engaging, deeply varied, and highly creative.

The Poe Adventure
The Secret Chambers - Arlington
Escape room
IRL
So many highlights! -Poe references abound -Their subtle auditory clueing feels so atmospheric and immersive. -Our GM interactions were hauntingly cool. -There are so many unforgettable story beats and set pieces. -It’s always pretty obvious what is in play. The only question is how? -An epic finale One of my favorites out of nearly 170!
Special Ops: Mysterious Market
The Escape Game - The Colony
Escape room
IRL
What a fantastic room by TEG! There are distinct plot beats, a fun (if predictable) twist, a really clever transition scene, and a bevy of novel interactions. The puzzles are signposted well, while still giving you plenty to think about. A wonderful room by any metric.
The Salem Witch Hunt
Back In Time Escape Rooms
Escape room
IRL
What a polished and thoughtful experience! From the thematic lobby to the door that you enter the experience to the room itself, it’s set and scenery driven. The story evolves naturally, and there are a number of thoughtful and surprising reveals. Signposting is clear while still giving players a myriad of aha moments. It’s a spooky atmosphere that’s thematically appropriate, driven home by well-timed lighting and sound cues. Play this immediately!!!
S.A.S.H.A: Home Of The Future
Wild Goose Escapes - Fullerton
Escape room
IRL
Siri-iously fun! This AI-gone-bad scenario has so much good going on! Very little is gated or hidden with puzzles, so this is a very non-linear game that gives everyone something to do! Despite so many puzzles being available, red herrings are virtually nonexistent. The puzzles are challenging, layered, and fun, and the input device is delightfully in-world (it also serves as a progress meter for your team). Cap it off with a fun finale reminiscent of Portal’s energy, and escape room lovers, welcome home!

If you loved Keeper, you’ll have a great time. If you’ve not played Keeper, you’ll have an even better time! I think this game ups the production value, but the humor and songs are not at the same level as Keeper. Still, it’s a joy to play. Joel is such a kind and creative soul.
Escape From Godot
Mister and Mischief
Escape room
IRL
Qua qua qua! What a bonkers experience! 6 actors for 8 players/audience members?! The show is the game, and the game is the show?! Nothing about this makes practical sense, but that's the joy of it! It's excessive, it's absurd, it's electric.
Avalanche
Maze Rooms - Robertson Blvd
Escape room

If you accept that you’re fully entering a nonsensical trip of a room, then buckle up. It eschews red herrings in favor of simple interactions with novel props, all leading up to big reveals, twists, and turns. Even if the potential for theatrics or a logical through-line is squandered (especially in the final act), it’s still bold, stunning, and highly enjoyable.
The Weeping Witch
Cross Roads Escape Games
Escape room
IRL
I'm approaching 150 rooms. I've done many TERPECA top 100 rooms or nominees. The Weeping Witch is a standout in any category, horror or no. The puzzle signposting is so elegant and so clear. The props are delightfully substantial. The horror is well-telegraphed, dramatic, and shocking. The puzzles are challenging, varied, and thematic. The hint system provides joy and levity as a palette cleanser for the horror. Few games provide so much umph into such a small space. Truly a delight.
