Witch's Cauldron

I rate this escape experience a 3/5 (ck out my bio for rating system). I give each category (set/theme, puzzles, experience) one point. The set didn't completely go with the theme, but it created a spooky enough witchy vibe. The puzzles were fun, probably where the room stood out the best, but still pretty average. I enjoyed the experience enough, but there were no real surprise or standout elements. It was my least favorite room of the 4 at this facility, however, that's not necessarily a bad review since the other 3 count as a few of my faves! In addition, the staff were very accommodating and really immerse you in the experience.

Witch’s Cauldron was our last game at the Quest Tavern in the Pomona location and it was super fun! All of them were very high quality and well designed! Dark lighting, start off eyes closed and chained. Probably not the best for children unless they like the Halloween vibes! Not really meant to be scary. No jump scares, (but maybe don’t let the easily scared person open things…) The set was very well made, the puzzles very novel! A good mix of traditional locks and unique triggers. Difficulty overall wasn’t terribly hard! We were a group of 2 and got out with time to spare, though there was one puzzle that was decently hard, I’d say. We got 2 hints I believe, one for the hard puzzle and the other just because we’re blind 🤣 One puzzle required sense of smell. If you recently got covid/stuffy nose or something and can’t smell anything…maybe choose another escape room 😅 Overall we had a lot a lot of fun with this escape room! Definitely would highly recommend!

I would recommend this game to other people. It might not be the best game for a first time gamer.

We did this as a family of four and had a good time, but overall it felt just okay. The story sounded cool going in, but it didn’t really come through while playing. It felt more like we were just solving puzzles than being in a witch themed room. It’s pretty lock heavy and very puzzle focused. If that’s your thing, you’ll probably enjoy it, but a couple puzzles felt like they could use a little more polish. We got out with about five minutes left using one or two hints, so it flowed pretty well. One puzzle I did not enjoy and could use an update to be more accurate. And when solved it didn’t make much sense. 👃🏽 This place has some really great rooms, and honestly we’d recommend trying those first. This one isn’t bad, just not super memorable.

Not a particularly tricky room, but enjoyable nonetheless. Our group did fun voices, the entire time, to really get into the theming. Like with most escape rooms, you get out what you put into it. Of the Rooms at Quest Tavern, this is not my favorite, but it was still quite enjoyable. This room would be best suited for players who are newer before tackling some of Quest Tavern's more challenging rooms, like Through the Sugar Glass.

We loved this room cuz it had a great balance of easy and difficult puzzles for us to get through. Some of those puzzles were unique and clever to figure out and gave us that “aha” moment when we finally did. GM was super cool with us and hilarious when we asked for a hint from time to time. Can’t wait to try the other 3 rooms they have there.

Fun room. Well done. Their easiest room so not too difficult for two experienced players.

Took my 10 year old daughter and we had a BLAST. Spooky but not scary. Julian, the game master, was great and very patient with us. His hints were excellent.

Quest Tavern's first room is an oldie but goodie. It starts off with a split start, so teamwork is a must! Also note that the room is quite spooky, but not scary, and there are no live actors. It's also Quest Tavern's easiest room, though make sure to put your searching hats on, as sometimes the darkness make certain clues hard to spot! In the end, this is still an above average room and would recommend playing it.

This is definitely an easier, older room, but it was alright. I enjoyed the split start one of the puzzles was a nice standout.
