This game was insane. I mean from start to finish the entire thing was so fast paced and cinematic, I'd never really experienced anything like it within the escape room realm. Having been recommended Intruders by a number of casual players and enthusiasts, I knew I was in for something pretty unique and it thrills me to say that Mission really delivered on this one. Let's start with the set, holy shit THE SET. High budget, expansive, immersive, detailed, intricate. I genuinely had a hard time mapping out its layout in my head due to the sheer amount of twists, turns and exploration we were allowed to experience. The creepy hospital setting is a perfect environment for a few amatuer paranormal investigators to get mixed up in, each of us with a unique role in the film crew, singled out and utilised wonderfully by our live actor and fearless director, Mario. It's pretty hard to put into words the fear and excitement my friends and I all felt fumbling through this medical hellscape. It was outstanding design. Puzzles here are pretty few and far between and while I'm usually pretty firm on this kinda thing, it ended up being easily forgivable given everything else that is thrown at you in the space of 60-90 minutes. I guarantee you'll have an infinitely better time in this one if you forget about the "solve" and just allow yourself to enjoy ride. Actors here were excellent, giving convincing performances while also adapting to jokes, outbursts and harsh "director-related" criticism throughout, my only feedback would be to allow players to meet these guys post-game. I understand immersion and the fourth wall but being able to have a conversation and pass on my compliments would've made this superb experience even better. Lastly I have to talk about the lighting and story, so well executed and seamless from the get-go. The narrative is the only thing you have to go on and these guys make a point of letting players grasp exactly what's happening around them all while playing fast and loose with so many clever variations of lighting, it added so much to the horror of it all. How. Good. Simply put, Intruders is a must-play for the escape room enthusiast, the role player, the horror buff, the psychopath. It's one of a kind in its entirety and deserves every bit of praise that comes its way. Bravo Mission.
