War of Rogue Machines (W.O.R.M.)

As the other reviews mentioned, this place definitely shows signs of age. I personally felt the puzzles were not necessarily hard but we just found it hard to identify when we’ve done something correctly. Even though there was no background music, we couldn’t identify when boxes or traps were open because of how quiet they were. Also, it felt more like a scavenger hunt where we would usually just clues that were in random places (e.g. sliding doors by the bed, clues hidden in the pillows). The theme also didn’t make any sense to the room as we felt it was just a regular prison break room. The price was definitely steep for this quality (<$50 per person Both of our safes were also open at the start of the game.

This game is very poorly designed, puzzles are unintuitive and illogical, leading to frustrating gameplay. Items you unlock from solving puzzles do not flow to the next set of puzzles, you end up having to carry them throughout the rooms and are at a loss of what to work on next. Puzzles don't have clear markings as to what items go into which puzzles. This may be an attempt to make the puzzles seem "hard", either way, terribly designed game.

I think I like puzzles with more rooms? This one was a jail, and a side room. I really liked one of the puzzles. But I felt a little disappointed when the door opened and I was expecting to go into the next room but it was done.

Puzzles were generally fun, but when a mechanism triggered it was hard to tell where it happened. Too much of a scavenger hunt. Theme of breakout studios is always great but room is showing its age. Also lack of audio is a bit eerie.

Tbh the room is showing its age. The words on the wall of a particular part were very faded and illegible even with a light. The flashlight we had was broken, gm game in to fix it. Very much scavenger hunty. As others have mentioned, locks were so quiet we didn’t know when inputs had outputs. The set design of the room is fine. And weird or not weird but probably one of the few rooms I’ve done with 0 background audio so the room was hella quiet. Even with it being quiet, we didn’t know when things opened if that give you an idea. Not my favorite here. Wouldn’t recommend.

I rated this room a 3/5 (ck out my bio for rating system). It was a solid room with a good set, some novel puzzles and a great game master - he really surprised me in the intro part!

We lost because we didn’t hear the final box open to insert our winning item. In this game, you won’t hear most of the boxes open and sometimes it opens boxes in the previous rooms. Which you definitely won’t hear. As very experienced players, we had to ask for hints for every single step.

Awesome immersive set design welcomes you from the waiting room to the game room. We really enjoyed every aspect of our gameplay at Breakout Studios. The puzzles are challenging enough to keep your brain working but not impossible. Helpful gamemasters kept us on track. A consistent storyline connects all the games. Definitely go check out Breakout Studios!
