It's 2035 and the metaverse has invaded society with new virtual experiences. This has led to a dramatic increase in crimes committed in this new environment. Metacriminals have therefore invaded the prison system and the situation is now out of control. It has become necessary to ease the pressure in the prisons and to fill the labor shortage which has become worse than ever. The government has therefore launched a new project called R.E.S.E.T. (Rehabilitation, education and self-awareness of errors through technology). This project could allow some metacriminals to obtain their release if they can demonstrate that they are able to learn from their errors or mistakes. You, as metacriminals, have been chosen for this project. This is a unique chance for you to regain your freedom.

Project R.E.S.E.T. was my favorite of Immersia's 5 games. I loved the core concept, and think they did a good job pulling it off. The set and actor were great, the theme and gameplay reinforced each other, and they made it look effortless. While playing the game, I was trying to not get distracted at what had to be going on behind the scenes to make it work. Unlike many escape rooms, it's possible to be too good at the game and miss out on stuff (though I understand Immersia has tweaked things since I played to make this less of an issue). As the game tells you, making mistakes is OK. We did, many times, and I'm glad for it - IMHO it's a better experience. I think there's more ways to explore the core concept, and I think it would be cool to explore some of them (although I can appreciate why the designers might have chosen to keep thing simpler).

5 enthusiasts was fine. Unlike many games, I didn't feel that the higher player count really hurt this one, but that's also probably partly because of how we played (many errors). I could see an error-free team having a pretty different experience.

This game had a unique mechanic that blew us away, and it executed its theme very well, leaving players with a valuable life lesson. My critical comments come from a place of loving this game and seeing its potential to be even stronger, not a place of disliking it—we really enjoyed this game. Great environment, great use of space, and a fun ability to order items to help with your gameplay. We also appreciated the GM's willingness to show us how they made the magic of this room possible after the game was over. While there are some minor tweaks we would have liked to see, I'll stick to our three major confusions/frustrations. Our first critique is of the tablet. It did not serve as a functional hint system for us, because almost any time we were stuck on a puzzle we had already figured out all the information the tablet could provide. Additionally, when you're playing as a team of 2, it is unrealistic to expect that someone will have eyes on the tablet at all times, especially in an environment as engaging as this one. Our next critique is that, to us, it felt confusing to receive the role of "criminal" in the game and then be expected to play out the role of a rule-follower. Especially with the quick discovery of a grate in the cabinet, we were expecting, as criminals, to subvert Project RESET and make an escape through the grate. However, the grate in the cabinet was not an escape route, and we were expected to follow the Project's rules to a T. While I understand that the story centered around rehabilitation, it took us a long time to realize that we were not supposed to act as criminals in any way. Our final frustration was that we lost the room when I knew the final code and was one number away from having typed in the whole code. Genuinely we needed two more seconds and we would have completed the room. From a design perspective and a business perspective, especially when your room has no count down clock, I think it makes sense to simply give someone an extra one second so they can have the satisfaction of completing the room, rather than giving them the "failure" ending only to have the GM come in at the end and say that, actually, we had completed all the puzzles in the room. When we played the Grand Immersia Hotel two days earlier, we were ten seconds over the 60min mark (not even as close as the 1-to-2 seconds away during Project RESET, and this time with a countdown clock), and the GM still played it out as if we had completed the room in time, which we really appreciated. All of that said, one common critique I saw in this room's Morty reviews that was not an issue for our team in the slightest was the audio-based puzzle, which was possibly our favorite puzzle of the whole room. Again, we loved this game! But we liked the Grand Immersia Hotel much more.
The staff were great, and even remembered us from the game we'd played there a few days prior.

Very unique room with a twist that I'd never seen before. They do a great job of providing you with a device that stores info, or else this room would have gotten very frustrating, very fast. One audio puzzle was a little difficult for us to hear but the rest of the room flowed well, and was fun.

We weren't certain what to expect with this one. Our group of metacriminals started off a bit slow but quickly worked it out and completed our penance fairly quickly once we figured out what was happening. Thank goodness for the hint system they provide, definitely made what could get frustrating into a fun experience.

The game does have a weird flow to it without spoiling anything this is where we didn’t really had the most fun. The puzzle are diverse some extremely easy to extremely hard. The idea on its own is never seen before.
The rooms were simplistic in a sci-fi way. Really modern and cool looking!
The GM was welcoming. The problem we stumbled upon was that we are both me and my boyfriend struggling with hearing and a specific puzzle at the beginning play with different music. We did ask several times (6+) if we could please skip this puzzle as we couldn’t hear properly the audio queue. We wasted roughly 30 minutes on this single puzzle unable to complete it while being refused to bypass or given extra hints to help us navigate around it. We were given the same rephrase hint over and over and really frustrated us. We knew what we had to do. It was simply physically unachievable for us…
