Long ago, the Egyptian god Set gifted a powerful charm - the golden Key of Destiny - to a Nubian queen, which brought her riches, fame, and power. However, she had the Key buried with her in the belief it would make her equal to the gods in the afterlife. Due to the powerful charms that protect the queen’s tomb, the gods cannot retrieve the Key. Only mortals can solve the puzzles in her antechamber and tomb and return the Key to the gods before the sands of time run out and Set unleashes his wrath upon the world. Good Luck, Explorers!

Gameplay was SO much fun! The room wasn’t linear, which normally isn’t our favorite, but there were so many puzzles to solve that we were having a blast going through everything. Perfect mix of puzzles too; some were deep-thinking and some were right in front of your face. We set the record for two people solving the room, not to mention we didn’t use any hints. Come beat our time!!! The room was totally immersive in design. It was a gen 1 escape room, so all the hand painting and hands-on equipment was beautiful. No tech at all, but still so much fun. Maggie was SO sweet! We walked in and she was waiting for us in the lobby, even greeted us by name which was kind. Game masters aren’t always the friendliest, but Maggie was awesome!! We felt very welcomed and it felt like she was passionate about the game and appreciative of our booking.

Yes

I don’t think Egyptian themes are too common, so it was fun to solve something different! Again, this was a gen 1 room, so it was nice having hands-on solves and feeling things go into place rather than just a bunch of technology.

Wow—what an incredible review! Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. Congratulations on setting the new two-player record without using any hints! That’s an impressive accomplishment, and we love the challenge you’ve thrown out to future teams! We’re especially happy that you enjoyed the non-linear gameplay and the variety of puzzles. We designed The Key of Destiny so that everyone in the group can discover something to work on, and it’s wonderful to hear that the balance of deeper-thinking puzzles and more observational ones made for such a fun experience. Thank you also for noticing the handcrafted nature of the room. We put a tremendous amount of love into the hand-painted scenery and practical effects, and it’s rewarding to hear that those details helped create an immersive adventure. And we’ll be sure to share your kind words with Maggie. She truly enjoys making every guest feel welcome from the moment they walk through the door, and she’ll be thrilled to know she helped make your visit memorable. Thank you again for choosing Boggled Escape Rooms. We hope to see you back soon to take on another adventure—and we’ll be watching to see who can beat that record! --Boggled

We just loved this room. I have to confess that I’ve never been the biggest fan of Egyptian-themed rooms, but this was a major exception. Loads of clever puzzles with ample problem-solving variations between them, great flow, a satisfying indie aesthetic that demonstrates a room doesn’t need to be high-tech to be thrilling. This is a room that feels really MADE—lots of craftsmanship involved, from sets to puzzle components.

I rate this escape experience a 4/5 (ck out my bio for rating system). This is a purely mechanical room so basically all locks. This is their niche according to our host. That being said, it is definitely better than the average lock- heavy room. There is so much care that went in to the set from the painted tiles to the handcrafted wooden pieces. Very impressive and intricate work. Due to the care and detail given to the pieces in the room and the creative goal, I give the set/theme 1.5 pts. When you're just doing puzzles with locks, you have to be pretty creative because there's not a high tech reveal. This room accomplished that with it's many different puzzles. Just the old fashioned, first-generation type that takes a little brainpower to solve. Puzzles get another 1.5 pt. I give my enjoyment 1 pt. There was nothing fantastical about the room nor any real wow moments but it was a solid room full of intricate art and creative puzzles.

I’ve done my fair share of Egyptian pharaoh-curse themed rooms, and this is definitely one of the better ones. The flow is smooth from start to finish, and it’s refreshing to see a room that does not rely on flashy tech. It’s mostly mechanical, tactile, and satisfying in that classic escape-room way. Nothing felt unfairly difficulty, but the puzzles were consistently clever and engaging. We had a group of four and it was enough variety to keep everyone involved. This room is great for beginners, mixed experience groups, or really anyone who appreciates a puzzle-forward room. I would recommend 3+ for this experience because it’s of medium difficulty.

Really well done room, especially for simple tech (mainly combo locks and keys). Very thoughtful and intelligently put together. Can be a little hard for just two people if you get caught up once or twice. Would recommend 3+ people to manage all the puzzles happening (there are a lot!).

Hey Garrett, we want to thank you for leaving a review, and a nice one, too. Thanks for encouraging more than two people to play. You're right, there's a lot to do! We appreciate that you thought the room was well done, thoughtful and intelligently put together. Can't wait for you to try The Ghost Of Blackstone Manor in October. . .

This is an awesome escape room for newbies and experienced people alike. GMs are really nice people and made the experience more enjoyable. My girlfriend and I had to do this one twice because we didn’t escape the first time. We didn’t bring our A game for the first time. But today we killed it. Very puzzle heavy so you need to move fast if it’s a smaller group. Highly recommend

This was a fun room that I think would serve as a perfect introduction to escape rooms for new players. For veterans it would be on the easy side, but the sets are well built and the puzzles are solid, so I would recommend it to anyone.

Gameplay

A solid series of puzzles that span riddles, logic puzzles, assembly puzzles, and physical puzzles. Really nice variety. None of the puzzles is very hard to solve and the cluing is clear and straightforward.

Atmosphere

The sets are clearly built with love and an eye for detail. The only thing I would say breaks the immersion are the lack of ceiling treatments and the various lighting devices that are just plugged into the wall.

Customer service

The owner/operator was wonderfully friendly.

Story

A bit of a twist on the usual “ancient Egypt” theme; you are members of an explorers society and a fellow member has disappeared after doing something she wasn’t supposed to do.

Difficulty

Easy

Everything solves cleanly and the cluing is extremely clear. I think this would be a great room for introducing new players to escape rooms.

Game tech

Mechanical

Deliberately mechanical: the owner told us that they felt electronics would not be appropriate given the theme of the room.

Ideal number of players

2

We played with 4, which was fine. But two experienced players could do everything and finish in plenty of time. I think more than 4 would be crowded.

Accessibility

Accessible in terms of getting into the space, but there is one area where I think maneuvering a wheelchair would be difficult. No climbing or crawling required. A lot of very small locks and several puzzles have to be solved on the large flat surfaces they are built into, though stepstools are provided. Finally, one puzzle relies on color, and several puzzles rely on manipulating small objects.
