A Strange Thing

This was a fun escape room! I absolutely love the show, so I was impressed with the set design and understood all of the references to Stranger Things! I completed this escape room with 3 others (a group of 4,) and I felt like it was a great amount! It is definitely doable with 2 people, but 4 people was perfect in order to work together, as well as separately on certain puzzles. If you love Stranger Things, you will enjoy the concept of this room because there are small easter eggs, a-ha! moments, and you just being in awe of the set design.

Having not watched the show the room was still a good time. Once we figured out where to start things flowed pretty smoothly.

This place was really expensive for me total lack of production quality. Maybe it was supposed to be that way since it was trying to copy a show but it didn't come off that way at all. It just came off as cheap and no originality. To me they did a good job of copying other escape room business puzzles but didn't put a lot of effort into creating a game worth the price. We visited because of the reviews but shouldn't have.

Some cool looking references to the show. It’s not very extensive but has a lot of 80s decor and items that brought about some nostalgia. Would say this is a difficult room but we did overlook a couple simple things which we had to ask for a nudge or 2. Our GM was very nice and welcoming. Just kind of felt as we completed the room, it was kind of an abrupt finish as the GM came in while some of the effects of the room were still in motion. Didn’t really get a moment to take it in and feel the completion of the room. But other than that, it was a fun one.

it was really immersive, a little dark and spooky but nothing too crazy. great for beginners.

The room was very simple and the puzzles were pretty much straightforward. It’s a scary theme but it wasn’t scary at all. The room follows a linear format but our group figured out some puzzles and went out of order which raised the difficulty immediately. You don’t need to watch the show to be successful. Our host Tony was great company. Anytime he assisted us, it was to help us on our execution and not how to solve the actual puzzle. You could tell he was really accommodating our needs.

There was a cool mechanic I haven't seen elsewhere, otherwise average stuff. Nothing to write home about.
