1st time visiting Escape Factor and it was a good one. We read several reviews and friends told us about Tree House, so there were very high expectations going in. First impression of the room was a great set design with great details everywhere. It was almost sensory overload with how much was in this small space, but the quality and designs were solid.
However, this room has a significant amount of locks and that killed a lot of my initial excitement. There were so many locks that once you solve a puzzle, we had a difficult time figuring out which lock the code went to, and our group became frustrated early on. Once we became frustrated with all the locks, it hurt our flow.
Luckily, our GM (Jay) was amazing! She obviously could sense our frustration, as she gave us a lot of nudges throughout the game to make things funny and to keep us on track, even though we never actually asked for a hint. I greatly appreciated her interaction as it got our group back on track to having fun and forgetting about our frustration with all the locks.
Although this room did not live up to the high expectations, we still enjoyed our experience and will be coming back to experience their other rooms.
