Overall an okay room, but would not recommend. The main room is NOT friendly to photosensitive people, but the other rooms are okay. Some puzzles feel redundant. Staff makes the experience feel purely transactional, not chatting before or after. GM didn't feel attentive to our group.

Atmosphere

Photosensitive people beware! The main room of the game had a white and black checkerboard pattern on the walls (and multiple mirrors all around) that was very photosensitive-unfriendly. Thankfully the other rooms didn't have this patterning, but it made it very difficult to participate in puzzles in the main room. The other rooms were pretty and well-designed, though.

Customer service

Most places I've visited, the GMs and other staff have been very friendly and willing to chat. Not here. The staff weren't rude, but they weren't friendly. It seemed very much focused on how quickly they could get us in and out. No debrief on the experience or after-game chat. The GM also felt inattentive during our game.

Difficulty

Easy

I'd say the room was a bit too easy. There were some very intuitive puzzles we solved and then we ended up wasting time on other puzzles that just gave hints for puzzles we already solved...The GM didn't seem to notice this and didn't let us know we were good to move on until we asked for a hint. Made it feel like it was designed for a very inexperienced group. There was also an audio cue that only triggered once, and it would've been nice for it to trigger every time the prerequisites were met.

Not scary

Live actors

No

No live actors, but at one point the GM had to come into the room to deliver us a hint. We had to walk him through what we'd already solved. This both severely broke immersion and made the GM feel inattentive since he didn't know what we'd already solved.

So the first thing I will say is why are you going to use local artists for your room and then use AI for the promotional art? So so disappointing. Be better, Conundroom. As for the room itself, unfortunately it really left a lot to be desired. Between an inattentive Game Master (who was very nice to be completely fair, but it was very clear they straight up weren’t paying any attention at all while we were in the room and it showed several times) and puzzles that had no flow nor indication as to what to do, my partner and I were left floundering basically the whole time. I understand that this is a room meant for three or more, but even with more people I imagine it’ll probably be just as—if not more—confusing. TLDR; like maybe 1 or 2 good puzzles and a great setting with an inattentive game master and a bunch of other puzzles that aren’t good at all.

Gameplay

No real flow unfortunately. Just kind of a series of time wasters.

Atmosphere

The one thing Alice had going for it was its set; local Seattle artists did all the art and it was gorgeous.

Customer service

Like 75% sure they were high. Kept on saying “let me check…” after a hint was asked for. Not paying attention at all.

Very different escape room from our usual experience. Have enjoyed every room from Conundrum - this one is beautifully done and well thought out. Highly recommended!

Room was immersive and neat decor, but the puzzles left us kind of wishing they were more satisfying. The two girls running the room were paying no attention. We finished in 35 minutes and they never came to check on us, so we left.

This room was still in beta when we ran it. It is going to be excellent. It is beautifully decorated and the puzzles are simple enough for families to enjoy; but complex enough to stump 4 relatively intelligent adults. The room would be crowded with eight full sized adults; just fine for large parties with kiddos, more comfortable for up to six adult sized people. The games and releases are all puzzle-based, we didn't have to solve any locks which we loved!

Two people could do it easily, it was fun with four, the recommended eight would be really crowded the tiny

Was anything broken?

Yes

It's still in beta so some of the puzzles weren't quite working right and the releases still need to be programmed. But once it's solved it should be awesome!

A tech-driven room for families. The set is whimsical and nice. If you have escape experience, consider playing with 3 players as it is understandably on the easier side. I like that they supported local artists in their game, but then their website seems to use AI art which, if true, is disappointing.
