La Famille

Update: La Famille has entertaining puzzles and a nice set design. When we went to La Famille, there appears to have been technical difficulties, which impacted the delivery of the story. Mr. Thierry Lacombe courteously reached out to me. I appreciate that he cares to check in with his customers and is receptive to feedback. I imagine if the audio and video were working, the experience would have been far better. I’m glad they are ensuring this works in the future.

Super expérience! Il y a une bonne dose d'horreur! L'histoire est vraiment bonne et très profonde! Selon l'animatrice nous avons battus le record actuel de 6 minutes! L'ancien record était de 49m, et nous avons fait 43m! Le seul problème c'est qu'une musique avec des paroles a buggé et a tourné en boucle et a rendu la suite de l'expérience plus difficile au niveau "écoute"

Au-delà de ce que je m'attendais. Vrmt très le fun!

The owner was very kind to us and allowed us to play this game off time, which was super appreciated as this was one of my most anticipated games in the area. It more than lived up to the hype, with a strong set and a story that was very unusual for an escape room while being familiar at the same time. I really enjoyed the initial room and it’s distinct yet connected other portions. Like other escaparium games, the game design blends challenging puzzles and thematic interactions, although in this particular case the tasks themselves had a heavier tie to the story. Even smaller details, such as video produced for the room, was high quality and appropriate. Some of my favorite games blend conventional horror and adventure to create more accessible yet still unnerving experiences, and that’s how I would describe The Family. It’s spooky, thematic, and packed full of impressive set based moments and integrated puzzles, while telling a full story inspired by a famous film yet distinct enough to stand on its own. It would be worth driving to this location alone, but if you’re planning a trip to Quebec City from montreal this is perfectly in the middle. Do not skip it!

This room has good bones, but I wouldn't say that it's suitable for English speakers. We had multiple issues with translation, and there was a game in the room that didn't make sense in English. UPDATE: They've added a feature when booking online to indicate English as the preferred language. This way they'll be able to better accommodate English bookings.

Amazing room with a horror/thriller element (not too scary though). As one would expect from an Escaparium room, the build quality is phenomenal and there are some great transitions. There was one small section that still needed to be translated to English, but it was literally a sentence long and easily explained by the game master. We played on a Wednesday as a team of three, and the owner was nice enough to open the location just for us (they were normally closed that day). Our game master was amazing as well… super enthusiastic and in character from the moment we walked through the door. Definitely a “must do” that is worth the two hour drive and one of the highlights of our trip.

On par with the other games at Escaparium Laval in terms of immersion and enjoyability. The Family is not very scary but stressful enough. Looking forward their next room!
