The Gate

I rate this room a 2/5 (ck out my bio for my rating system). I was really hopeful for this room based on reviews but walked out feeling disappointed. One reason for the disappointment is, for obvious reasons, we (party of 2) did not escape. We were told by the GM that it was a hard room for 2 people due to the number of puzzles in the room. I can accept that but the puzzle situation is also where I deducted a point. The puzzles were just not intuitive. After leaving the room, my partner and I evaluate whether we would have been able to come to a solution for failed puzzles on our own. But when thinking about many of the puzzles in this room, it was hard to see how we could have solved many of them without hints. By the end of the experience, we were asking for hints for what seemed like every puzzle! We've escaped most of the rooms we've done so far (60+) with few to no hints so it's not like we're bad at this! Outside of that, the theme was meh, set was ok, none of it was anything to write home about. Also, it would have been nice if they provided a flashlight or told us we can and *will need* to use our phone for light in the room.

Such a great concept and beautiful set design! Highly recommend to any Egyptologist out there!

This was one of three rooms we did here and was my favorite of the day. Had lots of cool tech and the set design was great. It helps to know before you go in that you are allowed to use your phone for a flashlight. Would have saved us a bunch of time. Still got out though with 7 minutes left. I recommend this room it was cool and our gm was too.

Challenging room but so much fun. I hooked my nephew to escape rooms with this room! Haha!

Had a lot of fun went in with my mom the only thing was we were told it would be hard but we didn’t have that much of a issue mind you we didn’t finish but overall lots of fun I fully recommend this one

Had a blast tonight in The Gate escape room! What an incredible experience! We beat it just as the clock ran out, so hard to say if we actually won or not. Technicalities! What matters is the fun we all had playing this phenomenal room!

Set: Very nice two-part set with some excellent details on floor and ceiling. Could have been more enjoyable if the light level were a tiny bit higher. Puzzles: Simple but occasionally very satisfying. Some puzzles were difficult only because the clues were hard to read. Success on puzzles was dramatically announced. We accidentally brute-forced one of the puzzles. Enthusiast: There's enough in the puzzles and set to be worth a visit. Me: I felt challenged but rarely frustrated. The good moments were quite good.
