To be honest, I wanted this to be so much more than it was. There were some, but not enough, carnival games and puzzles to keep the 4 of us (2 experts and 2 intermediates) fully entertained—especially since quite a bit of this room was or felt linear. One puzzle was also out of commission, but they didn’t tell us in advance, and it doesn’t sound like it will get fixed anytime soon. Overall, the room was fine, and I’d recommend it for a group of 2-3. We all wanted it to be more fun/whimsical than it actually was given the theme, so I think that affected our enjoyment of this room. Plus it felt like at least some of us always had downtime because there wasn’t enough for everyone to do.

Great escape room for the family on my son’s birthday. Variety of puzzles played to different individuals strengths. Kids had a great time!

This game is a blast!!! I love puzzles that fit the story/world and this game has plenty of them. A few puzzles seemed to need logic leaps but not so much that it ruined the experience. Really enjoyed the overall theming of the lobby and hallways in addition to the room itself. Customer service was great. We had a lot of fun! My minor critiques would be some of the word locks were finicky and need replacing, and one room is poorly lit to the point it made a puzzle unsolvable without hints. These felt minor in the context of the overall experience which was delightful.

Gameplay

Lots of fun puzzles and activities that fit the theme. Good flow with a few logic jumps requiring hints for my team.

Atmosphere

Beautiful set! Fun reveals! Like many rooms, could benefit from a fresh coat of paint, new locks, and better lighting.

Customer service

Fantastic customer service even when we committed the cardinal sin of being late to our booking…

Particularly interesting or different

Yes

Really feels like being at the Fair.

Story

Interesting storyline which connects to other red door rooms.

Difficulty

Hard

We needed hints to complete a few puzzles. A few tricky items require searching.

Physically active

Somewhat

A little bit of throwing and pulling needed. Some crouching needed. But no crawling or climbing. And the dexterity stuff can be done by 1-2 people instead of full group.

Accessibility

Elevator gives access from the mall entrance to the rooms! One doorway would not be accessible but they provide an alternative way that doesn’t miss anything and is still accessible. With that said, someone in the group needs to be able to stoop/crouch down for a puzzle and a few others require reaching up/pulling.

Had a great time with this one! All the actual game of chance style games were a lot of fun. One of the first puzzles was pretty infuriating as it’s just a physical challenge that was exceptionally difficult and didn’t feel rewarding. Otherwise there were a few really unique puzzles that suited the room really well! This was a bit tricky with just 2 people and I’d recommend 3-4 just to get everything done in time. Game masters were great too! Check it out!

Top 10 game for us! The most FUN we’ve had in a room in some time! So clever, great tech! Very satisfying solves. One puzzle was challenging physically but once you get it down it’s rewarding.

I liked this room - the decorations were festive with lots of bright colors and the games were fun. This was our third room with Red Door today. We failed "Once Upon A Time" (we weren't even close) and succeeded in "The Gift" (Christmas edition). Everything was in working condition. This was my 19th room (14W - 5L) so I still consider myself a novice. I played with two other adults with similar statistics. We agree that this was a hard room, mainly because of the number of puzzles needing to be solved. The good news is that the puzzles are mostly non-linear so everyone has something to do. I think the puzzles are mostly mechanical but there were a few tech-y ones.

Gameplay

I really liked the carnival theme and midway games. The set was well decorated with lots of bright colors.

Atmosphere

The props were nice. I liked the puzzles and games. My team is partial to mechanical puzzles, so this was a good game for us.

Customer service

Our GM was nice. We asked him to give us nudges if he saw us going off in the wrong direction and full hints when we rang the bell.

Particularly interesting or different

Yes

I like the carnival theme.

Story

Everything in the room fit well with the theme of carnivals and midway games. One of the games (you've probably seen it in everyone's photos) was my favorite. It takes two people working together.

Difficulty

Hard

This was my 19th room (14W - 5L) so I still consider myself a novice. I played with two other adults with similar statistics. We agree that this was a hard room, mainly because of the number of puzzles needing to be solved. We escaped with only a few seconds to spare and multiple hints.

Game tech

Mechanical

There are a few high tech puzzles, but most are mechanical. Our group prefers that.

Ideal number of players

4

We played with three novice adults. A fourth adult would have been nice since there are quite a few puzzles. We needed a few hints too.

Scary

Not scary

Minimum age

I think kids would enjoy the carnival theme.

Was anything broken?

No

Live actors

No

Physically active

Somewhat

At least two puzzles require significant dexterity (one was my favorite game) and there is movement between rooms, but nothing exhausting.

Accessibility

Vision & color acuity are important. I think the room is mostly wheelchair accessible, but there are a few tight areas.

Easy to find location

Yes

It is in Fashion Valley Mall. There are several restaurants in the mall plus a food court.

Parking

Easy

There is a lot of free covered parking. We did three rooms at Red Door today, so we had to bring our dog with us. We really appreciated the covered parking which was next to the business so that we could leave the dog in the car (with the windows cracked) during the game, then take her out to the grassy area between games. The Green trolley also stops at the mall. In fact, Red Door is the closest business to the station (my guess is that it is a 500 ft walk?).
