“Great game. Probably not the best game for someone new or inexperienced at escape rooms. They say it has a 3% escape room with hints. Our group is fairly experienced and we were able to keep things moving and finished with 8 minutes left with only 1 hint. Experience helped. Communication skills are key.”

“I am visiting the area from DC. I would highly recommend this Escape Room to anyone traveling to the area or living in the area. A lovely, welcoming couple runs the Escape Room. They do a phenomenal job. The rooms have outstanding decor and are extremely fun to play. They recently opened so if you have time come check them out.”

“Absolutely loved this room. One of my favorites. Great set design. Interesting puzzles. Decently difficult while not being over the top or unfathomable to finish in the hour. There was a video sequence that went on for too long (over a minute I’d guess) that didn’t give any further information.”

“Beautiful set, fun game play, and elements of teamwork. Our experienced group of four didn't have much time remaining. The owners and staff are fabulous too. Check this room out, and dress for getting dirty!”

“The Seed of Hope was a great game! Like the other games at The Sanctuary, it was very puzzle heavy. It’s also a very physical game, lots of running up and down stairs. We started in the foyer, and as the space gradually opened up, we spent a lot of time running back and forth. Puzzling was broken up with video tapes of the missing group. They were used to tell the story, but I felt they were intrusive and stopped the momentum of the game. Puzzles were fine, but the set is where this game really shines. Really one of the coolest rain effects I’ve ever seen. And that ending was just *chef's kiss* Overall, a definite must play in the OKC market. A very strong game in the powerhouse lineup that is The Sanctuary, even if you’re horror adverse. Not my favorite here, but a definite highlight of our trip.”

“The Lakehouse at The Sanctuary Escape is a fantastic game. Hollywood level set design and cinematics, a different and completely cohesive story, and a great puzzle mix make this an absolute must do. Story beats were on point, non disruptive and concise. Fun reveals had us guessing and character solo moments were executed to the highest degree. Varied and well constructed puzzles. One puzzle I felt could be improved with player feedback, but otherwise this is a must play game for any enthusiast. We flew in from California just to play this game, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. The Sanctuary Escape has created something truly special here, and I cannot wait see what they cook up next.”

Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
