“Tbh I really could not tell you what the storyline was and no one from my group could but the set was amazing so that really made up for it. The GM did a great job and it really was very theatrical. Good mix of puzzles with something for our group of three to work on individually almost the whole time.”

“had an amazing experience at this company!! had a team of five and solved the murder on the orient express after saving the wizarding world in magic school!! this room was INCREDIBLY immersive and have some really creative puzzles! one of the best sets i’ve ever seen in an escape room; it was a huge sprawling set! communication is the biggest key to success in any escape room but this rooms puzzles definitely rely on having good communication with your team!! the owners and game masters were incredibly friendly and accommodating; they really enjoy what they and it shows! one of the best escape rooms in pittsburgh, i will be back for the rest of the rooms!”

“Felt like a well designed room. Second room/site I’ve done of the Escape Room Pittsburgh and both of the rooms I’ve done with them so far seem to do a great job of some local callouts that you don’t get to see as much in chain escape room companies. In terms of the puzzle, nice semi linear puzzle with a nice variety of puzzle types including a couple red herrings (with bonus points to details that acknowledge as much in a way) found it easy for my team of four to rotate around a bit working as partners helping keep track of the details that while not always needed to solve a puzzle, can make it a bit easier to solve and helped us finish the room without any hints.”

“Large spacious room that did a great job of tying into a local theme and the aesthetics a repurposed bank vault. Game master was attentive and gave a couple welcomed nudges. Really appreciated some of the mechanisms used including almost no key/combination locks so puzzles were a bit more intellectual puzzle solving.”

“i don’t usually like the tomb theme but this was really well done. many fun rooms/surprises, and didn’t have too many overwhelming symbols like tomb rooms usually have. very techy and all worked perfect”

“Our first time at this location. Easy parking (at the Aldi across the street) and a really neat old building. We really enjoyed pretty much every puzzle in this room and it had a SUPER neat experience that I've only experienced once or twice in a room, done to great effect. Highly recommend this room for sure!”

Often referred to as The Steel City due to the iconic industry that took route here during the 20th century, Pittsburgh has far more to offer its visitors than perhaps meets the eye. This city is full of life, culture, amazing cuisine, and some amazing escape rooms that are certain to awe. On your next visit, considering touring the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens, where you can experience magnificent vegetation throughout its 15-acre indoor and outdoor gardens. Or if flowers aren’t quite your thing, then perhaps baseball is; PNC Park is home to the Pittsburgh Pirates, one of the MLB’s most exciting teams. If you’re there with the family, then look no further than the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium. No matter your taste, Pittsburgh has wonderful activities to offer, and some of the best escape rooms in the state.
Never to be outdone by its rival city of Philadelphia, Pittsburgh has established itself as an escape room destination. Since the first escape rooms arrived in the city, Pittsburgh has crafted some of the very best immersive puzzle experiences east of the Mississippi. In fact, greater Pittsburgh is home to over a dozen different escape room venues, and that number is sure to rise in the future. Subway Escape at Escape Room Pittsburgh is a favorite among even the most experienced of players. Create A Clone at Bold Escape Rooms wonderfully weaves its delightful puzzles into the story and set. Escape the Room Pittsburgh’s The Dig is an exciting game that is perfect for players who are a bit newer to the world of escape rooms. With over 30 escape games in the entire area, you’re sure to find the perfect game for you and your group.
Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
