Massacre Haunted HouseMassacre Haunted HouseHauntHaunted houseVery good haunted house, with high quality/budget sets, tons of animatronics, special effects, and a good density of scare actors. Some of them were pretty interactive and fun to banter with. My only minor complaint is that I wish some of the scenes were a bit brighter so that I could appreciate the detailed sets, makeup, and costumes, it felt darker than a lot of other haunts I've been to. Though I guess darkness helps make it scarier and helps the actors hide. It took about 30 min to walk through at a moderate to quick pace. Longer is better but it didn't feel too short. There were a couple of small queue areas between sections to keep groups separated but they had actors there to entertain you. The fast pass was only about $15 more which was worth it. I was there on a Sat night between 8-9pm and there were only 10 or so people ahead of me in the fast pass line but probably 100+ in the regular line. This haunt walks you through some of Mind Trap's escape rooms. If you have not played Mafia Heist and Vampires, the haunt spoils a huge portion of those sets.
The Haunted HayrideHanna Haunted AcresHauntHayrideThe hayride is my favorite thing at Hanna and the main reason I come back. It doesn't change much from year to year but I still enjoy it. There are tons of huge animatronics and tall sets that tower over you with numerous fire effects and a fun ending. There are a decent number of actors that come up to the trailer to scare people. The themes feel kind of random and not cohesive though. I forgot to time it but it's maybe around 10 long. Fast pass was definitely worth it, we went around 9pm on a Sat and there were well over 100 people in the regular line, the fast pass has no wait, we went straight to the front.
Cannibal ChaosHanna Haunted AcresHauntHaunted houseAnother decent haunt, but forgettable theming. Actors were OK, not particularly enthusiastic, some just kinda stood there acting menacingly instead of trying to actively scare people. It is short, <5 min. We arrived before 8pm on a Sat and used fast pass, there was no wait. The regular line had 20+ people.
The FactoryNightmare on EdgewoodHauntHaunted houseThis review is for the entire haunt and I will copy/paste it into all 3 attractions. This is my favorite haunt in Indy. The full-contact nature adds and extra layer of interactivity and scare factor. If you love bantering with actors, this place is great. Instead of walking non-stop through the entire haunt, you go from room to room and may get stopped/blocked/pushed/pulled by the actors. This makes each room it's own mini-scene where the actors spend more time taunting and interacting with your group. There are very few actors who only just pop out and then hide, never to be seen again. The actors also do a great job pushing through or slowing down groups to keep them separated. Overall the sets are very immersive with some fantastic effects and a good amount of animatronics (though nothing huge), but they go for a more realistic creepy vibe than for over the top spectacle and crazy gore. The ending was a "wow" moment for me, the first time I've seen something done in a haunt (where it wasn't an extra paid add-on) and probably only doable because this is a full-contact haunt. The touching can be a bit rough at times but nothing abusive or inappropriate. I also like that there is a great photo opportunity part way through, they do make you pay for it at the end but I like having that option. It took us about 40 min to go through everything, but maybe 5-10 min was spent waiting in the 2 mini-queues between the attractions. The Fast Pass add-on was worth it even right at opening time on a Sat, we basically went straight to the front of the line while the regular line had 100+ people. I prefer Edgewood over Thirteenth Hour because of the extra immersion and interactivity, but Thirteenth Hour has better storytelling.

The Thirteenth HourThe Thirteenth HourHauntHaunted houseThis is a narrative and actor driven haunt with lots of theatrics. It doesn't quite have the spectacle, huge animatronics, or bloody/gory sets of other places, but a lot of thought and care was put into the story and theming. I really like how everything was fairly cohesive and tied together with time travel using some great special effects. The sets are very immersive and detailed with great use of vertical space. There was a high density of talented actors who actually seem like they enjoy their work and were fun to interact with (many didn't all just pop out then disappear). Some other haunts have low energy actors who don't try very hard. There are plenty of animatronics which are used very effectively, just not many huge ones. I like that part of the sets are outside, the moonlight adds to the creepy atmosphere. The first section took about 20-25 min to walk through, then there's a "Purgatory" area where you can buy food, sit down, or use the restroom. The 2nd section ("The Rift") was about 10-15 min long including an outdoor trail. The fast pass was worth it even on a Thurs night, the regular line had more than 5x the number of people. This is my 2nd favorite haunt in Indy area after Nightware on Edgewood, I prefer Edgewood for the extra immersion and interactivity, but Thirteenth Hour has better storytelling.
FreakshowHanna Haunted AcresHauntHaunted houseFor a circus/clown haunt, I like this more than average. Other places just go for the psychedelic/fluorescent look while this place has a more realistic but creepy/grotesqque vibe. The sets look pretty good and there are plenty of animatronics. Actors are fine, not particularly enthusiastic, many just stand around or stare. Our walkthrough was <5 min. Fast pass was worth it, we had basically no wait while the regular line had >50 people on a Sat around 8pm.
Dark EchoesHanna Haunted AcresHauntHaunted houseThis one had a more unique set compared to other haunts, it's a creepy/haunted tomb. There are some pretty large animatronics and good effects in there and a quality set. However, there were no actors whatsoever which made it more spooky than scary. It took <5 min to walk through. Basically no wait with fast pass on a Sat around 8pm, regular line had ~30 people.
Haunted MansionThe Haunted Mansion Wisconsin DellsHauntHaunted houseThis was OK at best, not bad for a tourist trap. There are no scare actors so they rely on loud noise, animatronics, puffs of air, etc. I dont scare easily but they did manage to startle me a couple times which is good. There were some decent looking creepy scenes in there along with some animatronics, pitch black maze, trippy visuals, etc. I think it took me less than 10 min to walk through. Note that I paid nothing for this as it I got a free pass with my Black Hawk Motel room. I'm not sure if I'd want to pay more than $5.
