Baker Street MysterySocial Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThe room was very cool and used a lot of mechanics not utilised by other venues. We were going fine until we missed one important clue that had use stumped for 25 minutes because we were too stubborn to ask for clues. Whoops. They give you a piece of paper with stats of your playthrough and how you stacked up to others and when you solved specific puzzles.
Bank HeistSocial Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLPersonally I think this one is the weakest of the escape rooms at this place. It is REALLY hard and a lot of the puzzles still don't make sense to me. Overall still a good room but definitely not my favourite. They give you a piece of paper with stats of your playthrough and how you stacked up to others and when you solved specific puzzles.
Bellamy's BootySocial Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLA solid pirate themed room! The set makes you feel you're on a pirate ship despite the small overall size of the room. There's a good variety of puzzled as well and most of them are around the medium difficulty range and things are clearly labelled so you know what answer goes into which combination lock. I did have a slight issue with how the room tells you how much time you have left. Every 15 minutes, a large amount of smoke pours into the room, making it very difficult to see which I think is very unnecessary and a normal timer or hourglass could have been substituted. Overall a great room like all the rooms at social!
Buried AliveEscape ThisEscape roomIRLThis is by far the best experience that this venue has to offer. The theme of the being locked in a coffin is exhilarating. The coffin itself isn't actual too cramped, I was able to sit up in side of it. Teamwork is absolutely mandatory as if you miss even one thing in the dark, it is very difficult to progress. But definitely a very fun and tense room!
CannibalEscape ThisEscape roomIRLHaving played some of the other rooms at escape this, I've realised a lot of them are very hit or miss. Thankfully, cannibal steers away from this. Puzzles in the room actually make sense compared to other rooms and a lot of things are marked very clearly to show where to input answers and the puzzles flow nicely from one to the next. This room does have some scares in it and a small narrative that is quite easy to follow along. The room is also nicely decorated making players feel like they are trapped in a cannibal's house. The audio can be tuned down a little bit as they were a bit loud at times. Definitely one of the better rooms at escape this.
Cave InTrapt Bar & Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLI think this was a very solid escape room. You do need to be cautious because you will be in the dark and there are tripping hazards all over the place. Finished both the original objective and the side objective.
CirCurseLabyrinth Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThere's a lot to do in this room, you can start from any of the 5 puzzles when you start this room. There is a little of bit of guesswork needed to figure out which prop is needed for what puzzle and some things are easy to miss if you don't look everywhere in the room. The puzzles were good but some lacked a little direction in which you were supposed to solve them. The story seemed to be a lost very quickly through the game, you are told the synopsis at the start and then only at the end do you find out the answer, which is quite abrupt. There was one puzzle which did not function correctly and the gamemaster had to give us the next prop to proceed. Overall this is a good room with good aesthetics and good puzzles.
CR-18Scram Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThis room consists of only a singular room. Whilst there was was a good variety of puzzles, information that is provided is sometimes very confusing and some guesswork is required to figure out these clues. I think this room is fine and could improve through some smaller adjustments.
Death on the Rocks [Outdoor]CityDays - SydneyEscape roomIRLObviously since this is an Outdoor escape room, this experience is not like your traditional room. We started this adventure at Town Hall and ended within The Rocks. This was a great experience, there are 17 puzzles in total and they are on the easy side since this is more catered towards tourists and families. The entire game is played entirely through WhatsApp and the cycle involves getting a prompt, heading to the location of the prompt and looking at a structure or statue to answer the prompt which will then result in the next prompt. We discovered areas that we had not explored before and it gave us more insight on the vastness of the CBD. I very much recommend this experience for anyone. However there is a lot of walking involved and it took us about 2 hours to complete.
DormitoryFourth Wall EscapeEscape roomIRLThis room did have a cool story attached to it but a lot of the puzzles are a bit disappointing. You will unravel the mystery of the dormitory but the way you do so is a bit monotonous. There is a lot of reading involved. LIKE A LOT OF READING. There was a good concept for some of the puzzles where important information was highlighted in red text. The only issue is that this is not done for every puzzle. We were constantly given walls of text without any of that. If that was added to every puzzles, this would greatly improve the flow of the room. The room is alright but small improvements would make it better.
