Escape from Seattle - The World's Fair Affair

Good retro room with a predictive flow.  Staff was not interested much - just doing their job.  Nothing special.  The room itself had some cool elements.  One was really cool - it was an observation task.  Otherwise pretty average. It was not as hard as suggested except for 2 puzzles.

We booked VIP tickets for the Saw Escape Experience in Las Vegas after learning that general admission guests are grouped into teams of up to 10 before beginning the game. Wanting a private experience, we opted to avoid the wait and crowd, and I’d recommend doing the same if you’re not keen on sharing the experience with strangers.

First tip: look for the large iron gates out front if you’re confused as to the entrance. That’s where you’ll meet the security guard, go through a metal detector wanding, and wait to be taken inside. It sets a nice tone for what’s to come.

The theming is excellent: dark, gritty, and immersive, very true to the Saw franchise. The experience includes multiple rooms, each with its own time limit. What makes this different from a traditional escape room is that if you don’t solve a room in time, you’re simply moved on to the next. Clues don’t carry over, and there’s no puzzle continuity between rooms.

Personally, I enjoy the challenge of potentially failing an escape room, but the vagueness of some puzzles, combined with the number of rooms, means you’d need far more than 60 minutes to fully engage with this like a typical escape room.

There are some jump scares, but unless you’re easily frightened, nothing is too intense. The actors were a highlight and added a great layer to the immersion.

Overall, I liked the experience, but I didn’t love it. The format isn’t ideal for seasoned escape room fans. However, if you’re a fan of the Saw films or just looking for something unique and theatrical, it’s worth checking out.
