Black and White CafeMindFox EscapeEscape roomIRLThis is a great beginner’s room or one for very small groups. We did it with 2 people. It was very clean. The puzzles were cool and the design was awesome. The staff here is so friendly. They even greet you outside when you park the car. They are even the ones that suggested this app to us. We have done both rooms at MindFox Escape and can’t wait for them to open more.
The Missing SeasonSteal and EscapeEscape roomIRLReally really good room. Lots of fun puzzles that were not like any we have seen before. The story line was fun and the game went really well with it and the special effects were cool as well. We did it with 4 people and I think that was the perfect number. We were able to divide and conquer. There is some crawling involved but not everyone has to do it.
Gold RushThe Escape Game - GaslampEscape roomIRLThe room was very cool. There were fun challenges that I have never seen in an escape room before. The thing that stood out the most was their customer service. They wanted to make sure we had the best time we could possibly have. I can’t wait to try their other games. One thing I will say, the parking is a nightmare so arrive early and be prepared to walk a couple blocks.
The GiftRed Door Escape Room - San DiegoEscape roomIRLGreat room but lots of puzzles. We first tried this game with 2 people and didn’t escape. There was just too much to do. I suggest having at least 4 people in your group for this one. The design was cool and the puzzles were fun. We even did this room another time with another couple because we wanted to do the puzzles we couldn’t complete at first and it was just as fun as the first time. Of course we escaped that time lol
ArcadeEscape EraEscape roomIRLVery cool and unique. I loved the retro vibes. We did this room with 4 people and I feel like if we had any less, we wouldn’t have escaped. The puzzles were challenging but very clever. Very much would recommend.
The DinerQuicksand Escape GamesEscape roomIRLThis is not a room for 2 people. There is too much stuff going on and lots of things to steer you in the wrong direction. Some of the puzzles were too complicated and not in a fun way. The set was pretty cheesy as well. I wish we would have done this with at least 2 more people because it might have changed my view of the room. All of the other rooms at Quicksand were awesome. This one was a disappointment.
Resident Alpha [prev. CSI Lab]The Unlockables - Kearny MesaEscape roomIRLThis was a fun room but a little on the easy side. We are experienced escape room goers and escaped with 30 minutes to spare. The room was immersive and the props were cool. Definitely fed my nerdy side with all the science paraphernalia. Would recommend as a beginner room especially with unlimited hints.
The A.I.The Exit Game - San DiegoEscape roomIRLThis was a very cool room. Very high tech. There was only one thing in this room that bothered me but other than that, this room is awesome. I feel like you probably need at least 3 people for it. We did escape with 2 though…because they gave us an extra 5 minutes lol.
Deja VuEscape EraEscape roomIRLAnother good room from Escape Era. Our group did Expert Mode and escaped with 11 minutes to spare. The puzzles were cool and the doors to the next room were even cooler. There is an aspect where you have to crawl so if that is a problem, I would skip this room but if not, I highly suggest this room. They have a normal version for beginners and an expert version for experienced players. This really makes the room versatile.
The Disappearance at Fogmore ManorThe EntrapmentEscape roomIRLThis was, by far, my favorite room of the 3. Really unique puzzles. Great story line. A bit of a challenge but we escaped with 2 people. This was a very linear room but I tend to like those best. I would go as far to say that this was one of my favorite escape rooms of all time.
