Continuing with the trend at The Cool Space, there was a twist at the end which made the room far better and more unique. There was also an extra treat at the end everyone will enjoy.
Bloodstone KeepEscapistEscape roomIRLThe puzzles at Escapist don’t disappoint, all aligning to the theme and are unique and interesting.
Cabin CultStrange World Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLAnother unbelievable room at Strange World. The owners utilised the space incredibly well, and the puzzles were unique. There were plenty of jump scares along the way, however, the room has a humorous undertone which made this game especially fun. BTW, we beat the previous record by 4 and a half minutes, which was unfortunate for the group before us as they only lasted in first place for an hour.
Area 1: The PortalProject Immersive Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThe Project Immersive Rooms were truly unique and “immersive.” From the get go, before you even enter the facilities, the GMs are already in character, adding to the theme of a mad scientist facilities. The Portal has an interesting story, with unbelievable tech usage and cool tech puzzles I’ve never seen before.
Area 1: Nuclear EnrichmentProject Immersive Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThe Nuclear Enrichment room at Project Immersive is a high-tech and “immersive” room, blending story telling and cool tech puzzles. The standout of the room is the stunning tech moments, dazzling displays of light and cinematic moments. This room is definitely one of my favourites in Brisbane.
IntrudersMission Escape George StEscape roomIRLThis is one of the most amazing in person experiences I have played. The tech absolutely blew my mind, and so did the cinematic live actor moments. Of course, the jump scares also greatly enhanced my experience, although I didn’t find it particularly scary. If you aren’t too scared of horror escape rooms, this is definitely one of the escape rooms that you can’t miss.
Mrs ClawsStrange World Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLI want to make this clear first, I did this room when it first opened, so it might not correlate with what the room is now, as I’ve heard it had changed drastically, so take this review with a grain of salt. Mrs Claws was a good room, with solid puzzles and ideas, but there were a few minor details it needed to brush up on. The theming was done well, with good props and cool design, and the owners did well with the little space that they had. The atmosphere of the room was solid, maintaining a creepy but not too scary feel throughout the game. The puzzles were decent, with some that were not quite clear due to the lighting (I hear they have fixed this). There were also some cool optional tasks that could improve the experience as well as some well timed jump scares. Overall, this was a solid room, which could have touched on some minor details, and I am disappointed it closed down as I wanted to play it again to see how much it had changed.
MetamorphosisThe Cipher Room St PetersEscape roomIRLSimilar to the other rooms at Cipher, you feel like you are really stepping into a new world once you enter the door. In terms of narrative, sound production and set design, the owners really stepped up to another level. There were a stunning amount of surprises and secret spaces hidden throughout the room, with each one completely new and unique. I would definitely recommend this room to everyone of all ages, no matter how experienced you are.

The ButcherScram Escape Rooms PenrithEscape roomIRLThis room was incredibly enjoyable and a tad bit creepy. There are a few jump scares with the live actor, but it isn’t too scary. The room had many unique sections with all different puzzles. Though this was its second week of opening, we had no problem with it whatsoever and the experience was very smooth. I definitely recommend this to anyone who aren’t too against horror. P.S. Although it is only the second week, we still managed to break the record by around 20 mins.
