NevermoreNocturne AdventuresEscape roomIRLWe had an absolute blast playing Nevermore—hands down, my favorite room to date! Every single detail is meticulously crafted, making for an incredibly immersive experience. The set design, featuring refurbished pieces from an old Victorian house, is stunning—from the floors to the walls to the ceiling, every inch is thoughtfully designed. The storyline flows seamlessly, the puzzles are both engaging and satisfying to solve, and the room is filled with clever Poe-inspired details that enhance the atmosphere. The ambiance is nothing short of incredible. It’s clear that Nicole and Tom have poured their passion and hard work into creating something truly special and it comes across while you are playing. This is one of those rare experiences where, the moment you step out, you’ll wish you could go back and play it again for the first time.
Man's Best FriendGreat Escapes InmanEscape roomIRLThis room is top-tier! Man’s Best Friend is amazing and features unique puzzles you won’t find anywhere else. It’s easily the best escape room in Spartanburg. The owners are wonderful people to talk to, and you can tell they truly care about their work. Once you leave, it’s one of those rooms you think to yourself you wish you could do over again for the first time.
Tomb RaidersLock, Clock, and Peril Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLAbsolutely loved this room! It’s easily in my top 3 of all time! The set design was stunning and totally immersive, transporting us straight into an ancient tomb adventure. Every puzzle felt purposeful and was incredibly fun to solve. This room doesn’t have any physical locks or keys and that made the experience even more fun. We tackled this as an experienced group of two and managed to get out on time. This room leans toward the more difficult side, so if you’re newer to escape rooms, you may want to bring a couple more people along. That said, it’s absolutely worth it. This is one I wish I could do again for the first time. We had a blast!
Vanishing ActBlack Mountain EscapeEscape roomIRLThis was one of the most immersive and exciting escape rooms I’ve done! From the moment you step inside, you’re transported into a thrilling experience that keeps you engaged until the very end. The puzzles are not only fun and creative, but the live actor adds an extra layer of excitement with some unexpected tricks they have up their sleeve.
A Not So Fairytale EndingLock, Clock, and Peril Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLThis room was absolutely fantastic! From the moment your game master brings you in, you’re swept into a whimsical, storybook adventure that doesn’t let up until the very end. I’d recommend this to anyone. It’s pure fun from start to finish. I was especially impressed by the use of space and the incredible set design. Each room felt distinct and thoughtfully crafted, with one room in particular feeling absolutely massive. The puzzles aren’t very difficult, but there are plenty of them to keep everyone engaged throughout the full 75 minutes. We completed this as a team of two. It’s packed with clever details, fun surprises, and so much to see. A Not So Fairytale Ending delivers an experience that’s charming, imaginative, and just a joy to play.
PlaygroundThe Escape Game - ConcordEscape roomIRLTo be honest, I’m usually pretty hesitant when it comes to chain escape rooms. They often feel like they lack in creativity. But Playground totally exceeded my expectations. This room was incredibly fun, unique, and refreshingly different from the run of the mill chain escape room. The concept is playful and clever, and it really delivers on the theme from start to finish. The set design was immersive, colorful, and full of fun surprises. The puzzles made sense, were engaging, and very fun. None if it felt like filler puzzles. We did this room as a team of two, and while there’s definitely a lot to get through, it’s doable within the hour if you’re efficient and communicate well. I’d recommend any enthusiast, or casual escape room player to give it a try.
Vanished: The Cold Case of Stephanie BakerTrapped In The Upstate - SpartanburgEscape roomIRLFrom the moment you walk in, you will be transported back to the 90s—complete with 90s music playing in the background and a nostalgic bedroom scene with iconic movie posters. The attention to detail in the environment was incredible, setting the perfect vibe for the room. The gameplay was equally great, with clever puzzles that were both challenging and fun. It truly felt like we were part of a 90s time capsule. The GM was fantastic and helpful. I would recommend this room to anyone.
Saving SantaTrapped In The Upstate - SpartanburgEscape roomIRLThe atmosphere was fantastic, and the puzzles had a great flow, making for a smooth and immersive experience. We completed the room with 22 minutes to spare as a team of two, so the difficulty level leaned towards the easier side. However, it’s clearly designed with families in mind, making it a great choice for groups of all ages. The puzzles were creative and fun, and the engaging atmosphere alone makes it well worth a visit!
The ButcherTrapped In The Upstate - GreerEscape roomIRLFrom the moment you step into the room to the very end, the tension and creepy atmosphere are perfectly set. It’s unsettling and immersive without being outright scary. The puzzles flowed really well and made logical sense, which I always appreciate. While nothing was particularly difficult, each puzzle was fun and satisfying to complete. I especially enjoyed the final task. It was a fun and exciting way to wrap things up. This is definitely the best room at the Greer location!
Mountain Top MurdersThe Great Escape Room - AshevilleEscape roomIRLMountain Top Murders left a little to be desired. It had a promising start, with a well-paced first half and some fun puzzles. However, the second half felt a bit drawn out, with puzzles that didn’t always contribute to the flow of the story. One puzzle seemed unclear, making it more frustrating than fun. That said, the set design was great and was the strongest feature.
