The CryptEscape Hour AustinEscape roomIRLPacked with surprises and fun!! Highly, highly recommend. Tantalizing puzzles, immersive ambience, many "wow" moments, and a very good game master. The puzzles are of excellent variety and challenging (in a good way that makes you go "aha!") requiring a mix of thinking. It was a 70-min room (like their other rooms) but doable in 60. The gameplay is spiced with aspects of non-linearity, design unpredictability, and a very attentive game master who watches, hears and follows your progress with helpful nudges. A solid team of 4 would be great, but also doable with 2 experienced and adept players.
Wizard's TaleEscape Again RoomsEscape roomIRLI was surprised by this room. If you love escape rooms, this is one that should be in your wishlist. 90 mins of engaging fun! The puzzles stick to the theme throughout with good flow and variety. The game masters at this facility are top-notch!
Outlaw's HideoutEscape Again RoomsEscape roomIRLFun and engaging puzzles with a nice flow with the overall experience made totally enjoyable by our gamemaster. He was constantly engaged and attentive during our game time and gave us timely nudges to ensure we didn't waste time and finished the game satisfactorily! We were two people who maintained a good momentum throughout. I will say that while doable with 2, ideally, 3-4 people would greatly help attend to a few puzzles in parallel and more efficiently. This, along with the 2 other rooms in this location have been memorable experiences. Management is very good.
Da Vinci’s ChallengeQuest Room - PlanoEscape roomIRLThis was one challenging - appropriate for the theme! You are initially split into 2 chambers which sets the tone for the need to be able to work in non-linear/parallel gameplay. 4 experienced people is an ideal set up for this room. The puzzles had a good creative variety. Our gamemaster was involved in our success and alert to our progress.
Cannibal's Den 2.0Quest Room - PlanoEscape roomIRLYou're either going to love it or hate it. I loved it!! And it's interesting why you may hate it (2 reasons)...this escape room is quite different to what you'd normally do. It's less traditional "puzzle solving" and more "if I were actually in this situation, what would I do?" And that's why many escape room enthusiasts may feel stumped (and end up wasting time) because the solutions are often far simpler and "practical" rather than sophisticated decryption. The atmosphere is quite intense and they have done a great job on the design! You genuinely feel uneasy in there - which is the point. Big FYI: Pay attention to the instructions of your game master. This is the second reason: there is a mini-event during the game that may result in an immediate "game over" if you fail to attend to it in a timely manner...even if you have 30 mins of gametime remaining! This had stumped us the first time and we still hadn't realized what had happened. I had given feedback to the game masters to highlight the mini event slightly more because this totally catches people off-guard. Funnily, the game becomes so tense that - much like in the real world - you get caught in the chaos of wanting to escape and end up overlooking the basics. It's part of the game, makes it very engaging...but on the flipside, can be frustrating to some. I highly recommend this room. It's novel, it's exciting! Great option for a "scary" escape room...especially if you get the guy with the deep voice who goes above and beyond...and stays in character even when you exit and get in your car (!). I will be bringing friends here for them to experience this for themselves :D
Temple of the SkullGame Over Escape Rooms - KatyEscape roomIRLSetting and ambience were nice but puzzles felt challenging because the symbols, which are a regular feature through the game, could feel overwhelming because of quantity and similarities. The gameplay was quite linear which is a double edged sword: you can focus on the next puzzle immediately but if you get stuck, you eat up a lot of time. Also, having more people doesn't necessarily help in speeding up the effort. One of the tasks felt random that relied on a hint that is given to you in the mission briefing. The flow could have been better but despite the stop-and-start nature, you can escape the room reasonably well. Notepad needs to have a stylus (we had to use fingers). This is not a room for beginners.
LongevityLet Me Out Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLWhile this is easiest room in Let Me Out, it's worth doing if you're either a completionist or new to escape rooms. The puzzles were not complicated, requiring some standard amount of thought. A couple of them were quite fun though once you figure out the solution. You're essentially working through locks till you find the last key. The code to these locks are presented as different puzzles. Game master was attentive. Definitely try their other rooms! Can be done with 2 people without issues.
La AbadíaCodebreak PeruEscape roomIRLMust do! This is a pretty legit escape room with a solid horror element. English friendly. While the puzzle difficulty overall isn't too hard, the atmosphere and scare component take it to a memorable level. Firstly, yes, this room can be done even if you do not speak Spanish (in English). There is no clue or puzzle that requires you to know Spanish. The gamemaster is there for help anyway. Secondly, the game doesn't necessitate multiple people; could be solved by 2 experienced players but will probably be more fun with 4+ people. Thirdly, the scare element is a sequence that is visual and not physical. You don't have to worry about being pounced on or anything but think of it like watching a horror movie (you can close your eyes if it's too scary lol). The puzzles were more mechanical and centered around locks (numerical, alphabetical, and keys). Our gamemaster, Lucero was very helpful with her hints and guidance in English (over walkie talkie). Overall, service was friendly and booking was easy. Hope to do their other rooms some day!
The Kon of Kohinoor - A Mission ImpossibleMystery Rooms Delhi - Connaught PlaceEscape roomIRLWe need more India-themed, India-centric escape rooms in India. This one at least revolved around a subject that is Indian. Very fun! Packed with surprises and a variety of puzzles. For an enthusiast, this should be one of the first escape rooms to do if you're looking for rooms in Delhi. There are some awesome elements to the design. Well suited for experienced players. The puzzles kept us engaged throughout. You need to take your shoes off for this room (wear comfy socks).
Horror Nursery RhymeExitology Escape RoomEscape roomIRLPromising premise but at the end, it felt underwhelming for a few reasons. The physical layout wasn't layered enough. Then, too much exposition - meaning, 50% of the mystery is based on oral narration by the game master (at the end) in a "question-answer" quiz format. As if, you read an essay (explore the room), draw inferences (find the clues), and answer questions at the end posed by the game master (solutions to the room). Maybe you'd find that intriguing enough but personally, I prefer the room itself to drive the experience.
