Hope EndThe Ministry Of PeculiaritiesEscape roomIRLI did this room over a year ago, and I’ve done many rooms since but I still think of this room as the best one I’ve ever done. The actress was spectacular and the decorations were so realistic and immersive. You’re sucked into the story literally the moment you step foot into the building- let alone the room itself. All of the staff was so welcoming and talented. I don’t have a single negative thought about this room, it deserves all the praise it gets and more. To get the best experience I really recommend engaging with the actress as much as possible!!
40 ThievesMindTrap Escape Room - TemeculaEscape roomIRLAfter doing a bunch of rooms with actors, I was absolutely not expecting to adore this room as much as I did. Easily top 5 room- maybe top 3. It was a lot to do for just 2 people but def manageable. The set design was incredibly detailed and immersive. Also there were so many unique technological surprises. Our GM was very helpful as well. I highly recommend this place!
The Last SupperQuest TavernEscape roomIRLThis was such a great experience!! Super under-hyped room- I was surprised how scared I felt having already done Zoe and Weeping Witch and thinking those would be peak spooky (Id say Zoe is scarier but not weeping witch) The actor was spectacular!! My friend kept trying to get him to smile and he was amazing at staying in character. The decorations were also super well done (specifically the additional rooms), and all of the puzzles were challenging but not frustrating. Also they let us meet their canine coworker! I don’t remember his name but he was very cute.

45 Lampkin LaneConfusion EscapesEscape roomIRLSuch a fun room!! I LOVED the immersive set design and creative scares. We did the extreme version. Having done Zoe and a few other scary escape rooms, I wasn’t really scared but I ADORED the innovation of how the actor interacted with us- super unique and it’ll stick with you. One of my friends that’s newer to spooky rooms was really terrified! We didn’t get out in time (they still let us finish) but I wouldn’t say any of the puzzles were overly difficult? Everything flowed together nicely. And the game-master (Dreu) was super attentive when we needed help. The only mild thing I would say is I wish the speaker was slightly louder because I kept asking them to repeat the clues. Also kudos to our actor, Ben! Really got active 🏃♀️🏃♀️
The Curse Of The Black KnightEscapeX Rooms - IrvineEscape roomIRLAbsolutely perfect for 2 players!! The set is fantastic, wayyy bigger than ur expecting with lots of spectacular effects and fun decor covering every inch of the room 💙💙 I will say I found the puzzles pretty easy and almost TOO straight forward? I liked that I always knew what to do but I got out with 20 minutes to spare- when I normally get out of rooms within the last 5 min. If the room was harder/longer I’d rate it 10/10 but for now it’s a super solid 8/10
Wizard's Treasure60Out - HollywoodEscape roomIRLOur gamemaster Rachel absolutely killed it!! Her intro had us 100% captivated. The room itself is cute, the decor is very immersive and whimsical. The puzzles are more to-do tasks than head-scratchers so I’d recommend it for smaller groups or kids :) I really liked all the gnomes 🍄
Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle60Out - MelroseEscape roomIRLThe decor of this room slapped!! Super detailed and the puzzles were well integrated. I liked how the story played out and adored all the different roles the players have! That said, the puzzles were pretty easy- a handful of them felt more like busy work? Also there were “do not touch” signs that felt kinda out-of-place. Would be a perfect family room! But if you’ve done a bunch of rooms and want a challenge, I’d look elsewhere. Our GM Jordan was fabulous, super sweet and fun to chat with. He def made the experience better.
The Christmas Treehouse EscapeConfusion EscapesEscape roomIRLHaving not done the normal treehouse, I had a lot of fun in the Christmas version! The set was gorgeous and the effects were super fun. I will say you can tell the puzzles are part of a temporary room since they mostly were locks and relatively simple. Fully understandable why, it was still a amazing time! I really can’t undersell the set. Also I gotta shoutout our fabulous GM, Cloud. The room splits up the group and we were all calling for help at the same time. Cloud was super attentive and juggled all of us constantly bothering them with ease.
The HideEscape Room Era - AnaheimEscape roomIRLI would not call this a room with an actor. That said, it was a decently fun room- would be spooky for people who don’t do many horror rooms! The staff was really nice!! Lauren ran our game and was super attentive. Forgot his name but a guy with glasses gave us the intro and was super cool to chat with it. Id rate it a 6.5/10 Mild spoilers ahead: It has a lot of fun elements! I REALLY enjoyed the camera aspect- both being able to film and it’s general uses. The puzzles were decent, I generally knew where to turn and how to solve them. The GM was helpful when I didn’t. It’s mostly locks- and not puzzles integrated into the room. Having done a few spooky rooms, this room wasn’t scary at all. I was kinda tense in the first half because it’s dark but once you get used to it, it’s just a mild inconvenience. My friend was super frightened for the whole experience though so I think it depends on your tolerance to the dark. The decor was pretty cool! I will say the darkness was carrying a lot of the tension but I liked the layout. I don’t think it would be spooky if the lights were on (there was noticeable duct tape 💀) The most tense part is the idea of an actor coming out but they barley interact with you which is why I wouldn’t really label this a room with an actor (not like Hope End, The Last Supper, or Zoe is anyways) Random side note, I really liked the lobby lol
