Sweethearts Ice Cream ParlourThe Cool SpaceEscape roomIRLOur team of four thoroughly enjoyed this experience. The non-linear game design provided excellent opportunities to 'divide and conquer,' allowing us to swap tasks whenever we needed a fresh perspective. The volume of puzzles was perfectly balanced—substantial enough to keep everyone busy without feeling overwhelming. We particularly appreciated the thematic signposting; everything was so logically tied to its specific challenge that we never felt confused about which elements paired together. With high-quality audio-visual effects and a surprising 'treat' of a finale, this is a must-play.
Super Bomb Squad: Commandos AwesomeDoldrick's Escape RoomEscape roomIRLA great room with a decent number of puzzle styles. A technical puzzles were visually striking, also creatively some physical activity. Clever use of space to encourage communication.
JungalaEscape Reality - Central CoastEscape roomIRLJungala is a fantastic family-friendly adventure that serves as a great 'gateway' room for newcomers. The set design is highly thematic and offers a wonderful sense of nostalgia for fans of the classic film. The gameplay follows a satisfying linear progression, though we did encounter a slight hiccup with the hint system. Because hints are delivered via QR codes, it’s easy to accidentally scan a later puzzle out of sequence. This can lead to a bit of confusion as you're presented with information that isn't yet relevant. Despite that minor user-error risk, it was a hit with the whole family and left our first-timer relative eager for more!
The Alchemist LairEscape Academy - CairnsEscape roomIRLI really enjoyed the lighting and the layout of the room. It matched the storyline and atmosphere. The puzzles weren't too difficult, but your eyes may need time to adjust if you're not using the available lighting. A clever mechanism puzzle provided a reveal which the team collectively did their "oohs" and "aahs".
Y2K, Party Like It's 1999Escape Academy - CairnsEscape roomIRLA fantastic 90s throwback featuring highly creative uses for 'retro' props. The sound design was a highlight—the screech of a dial-up modem brought back a hilarious sense of tech-anxiety! We did have a minor immersion-break when a teammate accidentally removed a mounted item from the wall despite the rules. While it was our mistake and required a quick GM intervention, it might be worth 'gating' those elements behind a lock or a cabinet to prevent early or accidental interaction. The multi-linear structure is perfect for larger groups, as it introduces a fun sense of frantic energy, though it does mean some players might miss out on certain puzzle 'Aha!' moments while working elsewhere. Overall, a clever, nostalgic trip down memory lane
The Great Comic Book HeistScarborough Fair Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLAn engaging room suitable for all ages. While the difficulty is manageable, we encountered a significant bottleneck on one particular puzzle. The flow would have been smoother with better visual cues, as this specific challenge felt more like a leap of deduction than a logical progression. We also required a hint for another task, primarily because the physical boundaries were unclear—we weren’t sure if the objects were 'in-play' or off-limits. Overall, it offers great interactive moments that ensure everyone has something to do.
Secret Service MissionEscape Hunt - SydneyEscape roomIRLAn excellent introductory experience for our first-ever escape room. While it took a moment to get our bearings and understand the 'rules' of the environment, the puzzles were logical, satisfying, and stayed perfectly in line with the theme. The immersion was consistent throughout, and we really appreciated the post-game walkthrough where the staff clarified the logic behind the puzzles we found challenging.
