The DomeMama BazookaEscape roomIRLThis is one of the most incredible experiences I’ve ever had in my life never mind just escape rooms. It’s weird and wonderful and how they pull it off I’ve no idea. Don’t read anything about this room, just go and do it.
The Explorer's Diary (Mission)Hounds - Immersive ExperiencesEscape roomOther As far as adventure/discovery rooms go this is one of the best. The hosts really bring things to life and some interactive elements will have you cackling. A great mix of puzzles and set design to get both your mind and body working. As always with Hounds, flawless tech, design and staff!
Temple QuestClue CrackerEscape roomIRLA classic theme turned up to 11. An incredibly immersive room where the attention to detail is amazing. The puzzles were great with fantastic set pieces and one method of getting between different parts of the room I’ve never seen before and was a lot of fun. Worth travelling to experience this room.
The Diamond DogsClue CrackerEscape roomIRLThis game has a lovely unique entrance which sets the immersion off immediately. There’s then a solid progression towards a brilliant ending. As far as “bank heist” rooms go it is up there with the best and if you’re in the area or doing any of their other rooms, it’s worth getting this one under your belt too.
SpellCraftTulleys Escape RoomEscape roomIRLOut of the just under 150 rooms I’ve done (at the time of writing) - this is possibly my favourite. The twists and turns it takes you on are wonderful and unexpected. It’s the first room in a long time that’s managed to shock and surprise me when you realise where it’s taking you next. It made me feel the same excitement as your first room. And… I’m not normally a massive fan of wizardy magicy rooms so trust me when I say I adored every second of it.
AtlantisThe Escapement BroadstairsEscape roomIRLAn incredible use of space and theming in this room. It’s often that everything aligns perfectly to make the immersion as strong as it is in this room. The attention to detail is excellent and has features I’ve not seen in any of the 140ish rooms I’ve done up until now. This was a thoroughly enjoyable room and it’s easy to see the love and care that has gone into it.
Southern Dis-Comfort (Mission)Hounds - Immersive ExperiencesEscape roomOther A really interesting bit of theming which puts you straight in the heart of the states. A unique set of puzzles which lead up to an amazing big finish. As always with Hounds, the hosts were amazing and the acting belongs on a west end stage show, the talent is incredible. Another room if you’re in the area you should do, and if you’re not… then travel to do it!
QuartzThe Escapement BroadstairsEscape roomIRLAn incredibly well designed room, 10/10 for immersion… well… 10/10 for everything actually. A good combination of tricky puzzles and big moments which will leave you in awe at the tech and set design. GM’s were brilliant both in character and out (and also told us it’s the first escape room in the world to have its own soundtrack… f****ing cool.
Nethercott ManorTulleys Escape RoomEscape roomIRLTulley’s expertise shines through in rooms like this. They take a theme that has been done quite a lot in escape rooms but blow the competition out of the water. In each room including this you get more than you bargained for. The set designs are brilliant, the use of sound and lighting comportments the environment and the use of the space they have is second to none.
Mega BiteClue CrackerEscape roomIRLNow this is how you make a room like no other. The art style is amazing, the narrative is flawless and the tech that gets used is 10/10. I don’t want to say too much about this room other than DO IT. The less you know going in the better.
