The Hex RoomCross Roads Escape GamesEscape roomIRLI’d had this room recommended to me multiple times over 3 years. Finally pulled the trigger, and I am so happy that I did and with a group of people happy to do a lot of communicating.
The PerfumerQuest Room - HollywoodEscape roomIRLOk so apparently the game is based on a movie and not just like generic perfuming so… you’ll find that out pretty early on, but it does mean it has a bit more of a spooky vibe than what I expected. The quality of this room is nuts. You definitely have to be prepared to go like… OUT OF THE BOX for a lot of these puzzles, but that makes it a great time. There was only one puzzle that was a little bit… the clue felt like it didn’t match the solution/was also a little uncomfy? But other than that one puzzle, the rest of the room is really well done with awesome and unique puzzles and experiences!
RipperLocked in Escape Room LoganEscape roomIRLCreepy without being too scary, good production value, great GM experience, fun easter eggs!
Jail BreakLocked in Escape Room LoganEscape roomIRLThe room has a lot of elements which I think lends itself to it’s hard difficulty, and it’s about 50/50 on how many clues CLEARLY go with a certain puzzle/lock. (Spoiler ish maybe not really?) Because you are locked in two cells, and a lot of the things you solve need to be given to your teammates in the other cell, that part makes it a little less “clear” but good communication is key.
Da Vinci's SecretBust Out Escape Room - San MateoEscape roomIRLOverall good. Could have been more visually appealing, BUT we were warned that this location was less IMMERSIVE as far as visuals were concerned. I still enjoyed myself and found the puzzles to be pleasing!
Jack The RipperMaze Rooms - Culver CityEscape roomIRLDid this one after getting married. Was pretty fun, had some good puzzles that made up for the fact that some of the ambiance wasn’t what I’d expected it to be.
The LegacyBrainy ActzEscape roomIRLThere’s no AC in the building, so during the summer heat it was HOT, and so we got offered a fan so the room was at least bearable to be in. The fan was about as loud as a wind turbine. Multiple things occurred that we could not hear, and some of those things counted toward our “hints” in the end. Basically, if you’re gonna do this room, maybe don’t go in the summer.
