Lab RatHatch EscapesEscape roomIRLCool and unique concept, but I wasn’t too impressed… potentially because I raised my expectations too high. More challenging than some others I’ve done—probably not suitable for beginners. It was interesting and worth doing though. Best fit for those who like fun and quirky stories. Not scary. Will try the other escape room here at some point.
InksidiousEscape Room 66 - Los AngelesEscape roomIRLUnique theme and top notch props. Lower tech, but still lots of fun. Not many locks and keys. Went with 2 beginners and got stuck on one puzzle for too long, but it was fun. Story was cute and made sense, overall. Host was generous and let us go over by 5 min to finish the storyline. Highly recommend! Tip: Don’t spend too long on the first room!
Whatever Happened To The Garretts?Maze Rooms - West LAEscape roomIRLIt was fun, though I passed it up multiple times initially, due to the boring pictures listed on the website. Don’t be fooled! The decorations and puzzles are interesting; I can’t recall a single puzzle I’d seen before. As others have said, the ending was pleasantly surprising! It was a tiny bit scary, which I wasn’t expecting. Heads up if you get scared easily or have kids. We did it with a group of 3, which was fine. I usually avoid going over 4-5 since it can get too crowded. Would recommend.
UnstoppableMission Escape George StEscape roomIRLIt was immersive and fun, but easy compared to escape rooms in Los Angeles. We were a little slow because we only had two people and usually play with four. We enjoyed it and the price is lower than in LA, so would recommend it if you’re newer to escape rooms or aren’t expecting something super hard. More than 3-4 people would probably make it too easy, but depends on your experience level. The employees said this is one of their hardest, but take it with a grain of salt since we would say it’s easy by LA standards. Great fit if you want a cohesive story though!
The PerfumerQuest Room - HollywoodEscape roomIRLWAY TOO DARK and our GM forgot to include one of the items we needed to escape. Didn’t love all of the puzzles, though one was particularly unique. The set design was gorgeous, but would’ve been better with more lighting or even if each of us had one flashlight each. Overhyped, in my opinion.
AvalancheMaze Rooms - Robertson BlvdEscape roomIRLSurprisingly fun, though not too hard. Some cool features, though I won’t specify so folks can be surprised. Completed with 4 people. Would recommend. Not scary.

The Show Must Go OnNext Level EscapeEscape roomIRLIt was super fun and I’d definitely recommend it. Our gm, Stuart, was friendly, warm, & entertaining. We would be happy to have him as our gm again. The puzzles themselves were easy, but interesting and a good time. We finished in 55 minutes out of 75. My recommendation would be to take your time, enjoy the breaks between puzzles, & enjoy the show!
Down The Rabbit HoleTrapped! Escape Room - UplandEscape roomIRLThis was my first-ever escape room and I loved it! It was fun, creative, and not scary at all. The host was nice and I would go back. The fact that I remember it after all these years suggests it’s better than some of the more recent ones that I forget about after a day or two.
Steampunk AliceMaze Rooms - LAXEscape roomIRLThis one blew my mind with its technical set design… It’s a masterpiece just to look at! I wish I could go back just to marvel at it. Interesting and fun story. It's an overused theme, but well executed and worth doing. This is my second Alice in Wonderland-themed room, and I will keep doing more since they all have a different take on the concept. Highly recommend!
