Hope EndThe Ministry Of PeculiaritiesEscape roomIRLI can’t say enough about this experience. It popped my brain in such delightful ways and makes me rethink about what’s possible from a creative standpoint in this medium. Run, do not walk, to Hope End.
The TreehouseConfusion EscapesEscape roomIRLWhile we were able to book for just 2 people - it made it almost impossible to escape. We still had a GREAT time - but just know that the puzzles are built for bigger teams - there is a lot of real estate to cover - especially in the main room. A few of the puzzles are physical challenges - which we liked, but slowed us down with just 2 of us. Overall it's a beautiful room that would benefit for 4-6 people IMO. It's worth the drive from LA!
Irvine School Of Wizardry And The Dragon WandHidden DonkeyEscape roomIRLWe LOVED this room! Such fantastic world building and the opening room has a refreshingly HIGH ceiling! We played this as a daddy/daughter duo (she's 9) and the game master was very patient when we needed hints. Highly reccomend.
Through The Sugar GlassQuest TavernEscape roomIRLWe did this immediatly after Witch's Cauldron and it was a great counter point. My daughter was delighted by this room and loved all the edible treats. There is some great team-building elements to the puzzles that encourage communication without being to ovely frustrating. Highly reccomend.
InksidiousEscape Room 66 - Los AngelesEscape roomIRLMy daughter and I LOVED this room! Such a fun concept and the set design is a true delight. The puzzles are challenging but not frustrating. The game master was very patient with us and lovely. What a great experience! A+++
Escape From GodotMister and MischiefEscape roomIRL“The show is the game, and the game is the show.” The best thing I experienced at RECON 2024. If you have the chance to see/play it, you’re in for a treat. One of a kind.
Jewel of the SeaIntrepid Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLI love how this room lets the game master shine from a performance stand point. There is a delightful onboarding process. Once in the room we found the puzzles tricky but not frustrating. The GM was very patient with our team of 2 (me and my nine year old daughter). There are a few true moments of surprise and delight and wonderful atmosphere. I also love the parrotts!
The Magic CottageInfinity EscapeEscape roomIRLMy daughter picked this room out based on the brochure she found at Cross Roads. We didn't know much going in and I was delighted by the surprising uses of technology and set design. One of the more "immersive" rooms we've done. Some truly fun reveals and I can't reccomend this one enough. It is a little dark at the start and we had trouble understanding a few of the character voices but these are nit picks. A+++
The Fun HouseCross Roads Escape GamesEscape roomIRLWe LOVED this room! I packs a lot in a smaller footprint and the game master was EXCELLENT at creating moments of play and whimsy throughout the hint process. They were very patient with our 2 player team (me and my 9 year old). The surprise and delight of the reveals is great - can't reccomend this room enough.
The LadderHatch EscapesEscape roomIRLThe amount of work and care that went into this experience is borderline overwhelming. It’s a real achievement of what is possible in this medium. The tech involved is Disney level impressive. Can’t say enough nice things about this, I can’t wait to come back with my family.
