ExtractionThe Curium ExperienceEscape roomIRLThis is definitely the best in Melbourne WOW what an escape room!!! Even when you think it’s over it keeps going! And what a cool way to end the room (don’t wanna spoil it)! The puzzles flow so well we moved through the rooms easily as a group of four and two of us had never done a lot of rooms before. The first two reviews on Morty made us nervous as they said they were pushed through the rooms but we didn’t have that experience and we didn’t see any “side puzzles” the first review was referring to… all the puzzles were intentional and needed to move you through the game so don’t worry about that! I think our top two companies in Melbourne would be curium and adventure rooms!

Project MinotaurQuest Room - HollywoodEscape roomIRLThis room was one very big maze, definitely more on the experience side and is VERY pricey for the experience that you get. I’d like to compare it to amnesia. We decided to do it because of the hype but red giant is by far the better room in my opinion. I’m glad we did it but this isn’t my ideal escape room experience that I would book. The actors are so kind and really give it their all! Hats off to them!
Atlantis: The Forgotten CityHypnotic Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLWow this room was amazing. And we are VERY PICKY! I’m surprised this room isn’t talked about more. Definitely on our top 10 list of best escape rooms in LA. The room just keeps on going when you think you’ve reached the end it has more and more! The puzzles are medium difficulty, you definitely need a couple hints when you go into the larger rooms to just know where to start but other than that it’s pretty linear which makes it flow so well
The ArtefactNext Level EscapeEscape roomIRLI want to preface this review by saying Meaghan is amazing and she really puts her heart and SOUL into helping you move through the game, she is so funny and one of the only reasons we enjoyed the game. The escape room itself is alright not really our cup of tea. The puzzles are very wordy. A lot of reading in this room which gets annoying when you’re on a time limit. It makes you want to stop playing with how much constant reading you have to do. The puzzle with the alien language we just couldn’t understand at all even after Meaghan explained it we still couldn’t understand it 😬 The rooms are small-medium sized (about 3 of them). Maybe there are better rooms at this location but we picked this one based on the reviews and left feeling meh.
The Abandoned CabinAdventure Rooms - Melbourne (Bourke St)Escape roomIRLUnreal room(s). We flew in from Canada and tried so many different escape rooms in Australia and have been somewhat disappointed but this one blew our expectations. This is exactly what we look for in an escape room - multi rooms - feels like it never ends and flows so well. Abandoned cabin lives up to the hype. Hyper real theme that is a real house you walk through. If you’re worried about not getting hints - don’t be - the puzzles are so logical even we were able to solve this with time to spare (and trust me we suck at escape rooms). There was only two of us and we crushed it! Book this room it’s so so worth it and shoutout to TK for being a wonderful host!
Whatever Happened To The Garretts?Maze Rooms - West LAEscape roomIRLThis was by far the best escape room we have ever played. From gameplay to set design to it just never ending. Ticks off everything on my list of what an escape room should be and beyond.
The CourtyardTHE BASEMENT: A Live Escape Room Experience - SylmarEscape roomIRLThis room was really disappointing and so lack lustre. This is supposed to be considered the BEST escape room in LA but unfortunately it did not live up to the hype. I’m fairly sure the reviews have to be fake because there is no way this “escape room” if you can even call it that is legit. Don’t get me wrong the set is amazing but the game itself SUCKS. In every room the puzzles are very basic, and you only have 45 min to get through these rooms (and NO HINTS) which is not enough time for even fast players. Also there’s really only 2 rooms and a trailer on the set as the “third room”. The LIVE actor takes up quite a lot of time talking instead of getting to the point. We just felt so sad leaving having drove quite far to 1. Not even escape and 2. Have such a disappointing experience. The staff also ask you to tip as you’re leaving which makes the experience incredibly awkward. I would not recommend going here. You’re better off booking a room with maze rooms or quest rooms. This whole place just feels like a scam to take your money and give you a lack lustre escape room under the guise of being “the best escape room in LA”
Wrongfully ConvictedThe Escape RevolutionEscape roomIRLDefinitely my favourite room here mainly because of how interactive the game play is. It really feels like nothing is off limits in this room even as far as unscrewing bolts on fixtures. It is a very smart thinking game!
Escobar: Part 1 (The Betrayal)The Escape RevolutionEscape roomIRLProbably my second favourite room here or I’d probably tie it for first with the prisoner room! Both equally interactive and immersive. The rooms are incredibly designed.
