The Temple of Lost GoldMaze Rooms - Robertson BlvdEscape roomIRLGreeted well by the GM and jumped into gameplay without any type of rules/oorientation. Great for enthusiasts, not sure if newbies would know what to do. The puzzles were fun (when they worked) with creative solutions. Story was hard to follow because of the narration being hard to hear sometimes. Lighting is dim overall, especially for the first puzzle. Several puzzles had to be reset by the GM or manually triggered which took away from the experience. The finale of the game would have been a fun ending, if not for the technical or reset mishaps. Great set/production but disappointing experience and not worth the cost due to all the glitches. *Seniors: storyline audio is hard to hear, readers aren’t needed much but lighting is dim. Steep staircase in one section will require help from others because there are not railings. Be careful!
Insane AsylumPanIQ Room - Long BeachEscape roomIRLRoom works well with the theme. Puzzles are easy to piece together but hard to execute with only 2 players. Dexterity puzzles only need 2 players but are time consuming…you’d need other players to help complete the room. Staff at this location is FIVE STARS…even though we didn’t enjoy the game, the staff validated our frustrations & cheered us up!
Pirates Of TortugaPanIQ Room - Long BeachEscape roomIRLGreat Pirate theme…well kept up with only a little wear and tear. Room flowed well and had unique pirate themed puzzles *Seniors: bring your reading glasses, ask the GM to turn down ambient sounds if too loud. Use the light sources given to you.
Cannibal's Den 2.0Quest Room - HollywoodEscape roomIRLAs with most scary rooms, the setting is dark. Apparently, there is a light source you can use if operated correctly…so be sure to ask about that before gameplay. Linear room with a few creative puzzles. ‘Hard’ for the sake of being hard, sacrificing an entertaining experience for the player. Not worth your time or money.
