Prison BreakThe Escape Game - ColumbusEscape roomIRLThis was a pretty fun game where your team is split in two at the beginning, though you do join together pretty soon after. It's fun getting to interact across rooms where you don't have perfect knowledge of what the other person is seeing. Beyond that the room isn't too hard. There were some parts broken when I did the room, which was kind of a let down, and overall the room wasn't too hard. We even solved some parts without knowing how, which I personally find to be somewhat of a let down. Fun room overall though, and great set design!
The DepthsThe Escape Game - ColumbusEscape roomIRLThis was my first game that I have done with The Escape Game, and it was amazing! The quality of their sets are out of this world! The puzzles themselves were fairly unique and definitely brought some new thoughts to the adventure. That being said, it was a fairly easy room, so I would recommend doing this with small groups of people who are new and just want to have a good experience!
Special Ops: Mysterious MarketThe Escape Game - San FranciscoEscape roomIRLThis is my personal favorite of The Escape Game rooms and I strongly recommend it. The set design is awesome and the story is engaging as well. The room itself was not too hard, but was still fun to progress through the different stages. On the whole I feel all of The Escape Game rooms are fairly easy and this continues that trend, which isn't a bad thing. Definitely a strong recommendation for beginners or those who just want to have a good time.
Christmas at GrandmasEscape It GrandviewEscape roomIRLThis was a fun room with a pretty high level of difficulty. Our group definitely needed a fair number of hints in order to get through everything, though part of it was us just being unobservant. On the whole I had a lot of fun with this room and would love to go back! Some parts are not the most obvious what comes next, but it is possible to solve everything without fully grasping the story.
Cat BurglarEscape ArtistsEscape roomIRLThis was a fairly difficult room that has a number of things going for it. Definitely some novel puzzles and parts to get excited about. That being said, if you do this room, have a keen eye for detail. I'm personally not the greatest of noticing small things and that came back to bite us. Also there may be some parts that are hard for larger people / those with disabilities. On the whole an all right room on the better end of the offerings in Columbus
Kingdom Of Cat-tastrophyOmescape - SunnyvaleEscape roomIRLThis was a pretty good room, definitely on the easier side of things. Great option for beginners and people who are new to doing escape rooms, though it may set the bar pretty high for future escape rooms as the production value was very high. The puzzles themselves were all right, and there was a large variety of challenges. There were a good number of puzzles though that I found to be not that interesting, and were actually somewhat frustrating as it took a lot of attention to details. We figured out what to do, but the slowness of the pattern was annoying to wait through, especially if you missed something and had to watch everything over again.
Rest Easy MotelEscape ArtistsEscape roomIRLThis is a fairly simple room though the theme makes it a little scary. No live actors or anything like that, but just the theme and lighting makes it feel pretty creepy. The puzzles themselves are fairly doable and easy to breeze through so I think smaller groups would be able to do this and still have a lot of fun. Our GM was a little proactive in giving us clues, which wasn't the worst, but definitely kept us moving quickly which may not have been super necessary since we had over 20 minutes left at the end anyways.
Explorer StudyEscape It GrandviewEscape roomIRLThis was my first room at this location and it was definitely cool. The usage of different props in the room was pretty unique and caused us to need to think outside the box. We definitely felt the time pressure, but the room felt like it got easier as we kept going which was nice. So we were able to narrowly escape, despite a slow start and felt a sense of accomplishment from it.
The HeistThe Escape Game - ColumbusEscape roomIRLThis is a good room with some fun puzzles. Nothing terribly new here, but definitely has a good level of immersion. It was fun going through the room and I thoroughly enjoyed the puzzles and would recommend it to people who are newer to escape rooms in general. Great set design though, and definitely had some clever moments.
