Everything was well designed, working smoothly, and well “signaled” you knew when you were looking at a puzzle and when you had solved it, without feeling like the room was hand-holding you or robbing you of a the fun of discovery. A great variety of puzzles, too, and very nicely non-linear. They used the whole space very effectively. Highly recommended for newcomers and old-timers alike.

Great flow and variety. It's not the most challenging room I've done in Boston but it is the most memorable and enjoyable. There was simply not a single thing wrong at any point, and many brilliant and novel features.

The space is immersive and very dense with interesting puzzles and interactions -- several exciting surprises. Definitely the best at Red Fox, and I think the only one at Red Fox that really competes with Boxaroo. I don't want to say much more to avoid spoilers, but if you're at all tempted by this room, do it!
Stash HouseStash HouseEscape roomIRLA clever non-linear room. My group of four experienced escapers attacked it with a divide-and-conquer approach and squeaked by with not much time to spare -- we were busy! People who know more about contemporary hip-hop might have more fun with the theming but no outside knowledge was needed, and we enjoyed that the room had such a strong and unique theme. Several fun reveals and layered puzzles.
Going UndergroundCrime Runners - Branch Alser StrasseEscape roomIRLIt’s easy to see why this one wins awards! We were totally immersed and engaged the whole way through. I’m glad we played all four of their rooms in order almost as a mini history of the development of escape rooms. They were all worth playing but the others would have felt like a bit of a letdown if we’d done this one first.
The Steampunk ExpressThe Imaginarium: Playground for the Creative MindEscape roomIRLEven with a large group and what seemed like a lot of time on the clock, we felt almost frantically busy the whole way through! There were one or two puzzles where we got a little confused by a lack of verisimilitude in the props, but nothing was broken, we were just being thick, and overall it was an exciting variety of interactions with a lot of satisfying "aha!" moments. The theming was immersive and added to the high-energy excitement.
Train RobberyCyber Raccoon Escape RoomEscape roomIRLMight be my favourite room in DC! (Or maybe second favourite after The Depths?) My team of three escaped and had a blast. The set is thoughtful and in good condition. It took us a little bit to get some momentum going, but the pieces fit together logically and creatively, with a mix of difficulties. Not too linear, which is nice in a group— we could work in parallel. Every puzzle felt well rewarded, and everything worked as it is supposed to. The pre-game rules video is absolutely the cringiest one I’ve seen in a very cringy genre, though. Well worth the drive from DC proper!
Atlantis: The Forgotten CityHypnotic Escape RoomsEscape roomIRLPlayed with three: two experienced escapers and one total newbie. The puzzles did a great job of giving a clear “mission” at all times without feeling constrained/railroaded. A nice escalation between rooms; it was a lot more linear than it felt, which meant it could have a good difficulty curve. Best part was a really satisfying emphasis on physical interactions and environments over locks-and-keys.
