Very fun and unique game! Not a Scooby fan (never watched the show) but still quite enjoyable. Please read reviews/details on accessibility considerations before booking though!

The room immersion is good and the props were decent. It’s listed as Hard difficulty but the puzzles are very easy (mostly combo locks or lock/key), which is fine for a mixed experience group or medium-experienced groups. The things that do cost you time did feel gimmicky though.

Two major complaints apart from that:
1. The hint button didn’t work and there wasn’t a game master watching our room. We spent 8+ minutes trying to get someone’s attention, allowing for “hint typing time”, etc, before a player physically left the room to see what was going on. Even then, nobody was at the front desk so it took a few more minutes to even find a staff member in the suite. They did give us the time back but it completely took away any immersion element. What’s worse is that the hint we were begging for wouldn’t have been needed if the introductory instructions weren’t so confusing (see #2)

2. “Don’t untie!!!!!!!!” does NOT mean “don’t unravel.” You are REQUIRED to “unravel” a rope to create length, which is excruciatingly obvious but very confusing when you’re told 3+ times NOT to untie any ropes. Does unraveling count as untying?? Took us 10+ minutes overall for someone to type “you can unravel.” It’s semantics, but cost us a stupid amount of time. 

The team members were nice overall but possibly understaffed. Either way, the room was $45 per person and this experience was just not it. Escapology also does not permit their post-game photo in the room or with any game props like many others do which probably doesn’t matter to some but is always a bummer. 

We’ve done other Escapology rooms before and they were fine, but unfortunately can’t recommend this room or location because of our experience.
