“strong puzzles that flowed really well with a bunch of innuendo and a fun theme. another room from these guys designed for two players, while that didn't feel strictly necessary it was a fun experience and possibly the first room where we haven't asked for hints.”

“Really fun. Great set design, creative puzzles, lots of rooms. I was impressed. We'd previously done a different room from the same people and it was pretty terrible so I was pleasantly surprised that this room is unusually High reviews were well deserved”

“Outstanding gameplay. Some of the best we’ve encountered in terms of flow, challenge level, and variety of puzzles. Moreover, we felt welcomed and attended to throughout the entirety of our experience. The game master even called in to ask if we would like the music lowered when he noticed that our daughter was plugging her ears. (She does so during most escape rooms in case anything jumps out.) We spoke with our game master afterwards, and he said that the few red herrings in the room are there to help him assist with clues. (They cue people to space and time in the narrative, so they make it quicker for the players to act on the hints.) Overall, we really loved the room and wish we lived in London so we could return and play the others!”

“clueQuest is London’s premiere escape room operation. You can get drinks. You can get merch like a magnet with your group’s picture. They have at least doubles of most if not all of their rooms. Excellent, challenging room. Puzzles all made sense. Theme was well incorporated. We had no questions about how things worked at the end. Our GM Miquel was very kind and helpful. This room is definitely an expert level room. Don’t try this unless you have dozens of rooms under your belt or you’re OK with getting lots of hints.”

“This room is charmingly lowtech, but any escape room themed after breaking into the officer's club to steal beer is a winner in my book. Lots of creative puzzles, all mechanical, in a slightly cramped space. Note that if you did Battle for Britain in EscapePlan's previous locale, some of the puzzles from that room have a new room in Roll Out the Barrel, but there are lots of new challenges as well.”

“3rd escape room in London was a success! The Adventure Begins… is a brilliant nod to the film The Great Escape, sans motorcycle jump. Our game master Sarah was a wonderful host, and the puzzles and theme were fun!”

“Victory! What a delightful take on the escape room genre. I especially in the second half of this room. A great room for those who enjoy puzzles that start out individually but contribute to a common goal, and the WWII setting.”

“Like their other rooms, you can feel their love for escape games and the engineering they personally do to make their room succeed. Less puzzle dense/overwhelming than their other rooms, but makes for a more fun experience.”

London's escape rooms often feature captivating storylines, intricate puzzles, and impressive set designs, creating an immersive environment that transports participants into thrilling scenarios. Whether it's uncovering ancient secrets in Egyptian tombs, solving crimes in detective mysteries, or surviving zombie apocalypses, London's escape rooms offer an adrenaline-pumping challenge that keeps visitors on their toes. Remember those point-and-click adventure games where you’re locked in a room and have to solve puzzles to find the key and escape? Those online games were the original inspiration for the live escape rooms you’ll find all across the world today. An escape room is an immersive experience where you (and your team of 2 or more people) are locked in a room with a series of puzzles for 60 minutes. To escape and win the game, you have to look for clues, solve the puzzles, and find the key. While most escape rooms only give you 60 minutes to complete the challenge, others may have shorter or longer time limits. Many venues are private rooms where you and your team are the only players. However, some places may pair you with other groups who booked a slot at the same time. And don’t worry about getting stuck, asking for hints on a difficult puzzle is totally normal. While the original escape room (created by SCRAP in 2007) had a fairly simple aesthetic, today’s escape games often take you into a different world. Artistic set designs, secret doors, and unique interactive elements are all part of the fun. It’s like an adventure game that you can interact with in real life. But if you’re hoping to preview any rooms before you book a game somewhere, detailed images and videos can be hard to find. To keep the puzzles a secret and preserve the experience of seeing the room for the first time, most venues only offer a few photos or a short trailer about the room’s theme or narrative. The only way to know what it’s like is to go and try it for yourself!
